As I am based overseas, and would like to surprise my partner with a romantic dinner while we are in Boracay, i needed to make preparations before I arrive in Manila. And Rima F and B manager Joyce made sure we had a very unforgettable night.

Thru email, she sent me the menu and took note of my special requests like a bouquet of peach roses, and even waived the corkage for our sparkling wine.

We were billeted in another nearby resort (Nami), and a van from Shangri-la fetched us to/from Nami. Driver Myke was efficient and helpful.

From Rima lobby, we were greeted by Joyce and ushered to our outdoor table. Rima is a small resto, maybe can seat a max of 50 people, is nicely decorated and very intimate with all those soft lights and lush greenery.

Highly recommend the squid ink pasta, and lobster pasta. We also loved Bacala cooked in parchment paper. For dessert my partner loved her pyramid ice cream with bailey sauce.

There is not much in the wine list, but I guess you can opt to bring your own and hope that corkage fee is waived.

Loved this place, a bit pricey but we think its worth the experience of a wonderful romantic evening.

“A quiet relaxed, expensive dinner”
Reviewed October 12, 2011

We decided to try out this restaurant inside Shangri-la Boracay. The ambience was certainly relaxing and pleasant. Service was typical shangri-la great. About the food, expectedly expensive...not fantastic, but a good meal all-in-all.

Quite a variety of choices - pizza, pasta, steak, fish. If you feel lazy to explore the many other restaurants in the busy Boracay strip and just want to have a quiet, relaxed dinner...this is the place!

“Excellent food in a great location: Romantic: Great Service and Prices”
Reviewed August 6, 2011

Yup, so its another review of Boracay..
we spent a week here on holiday,, and I must say, after eating some incredibly boring, generally tasteless food down by the " white beach" in Boracay, we finally decided to take a ride up the hill to the top: to Rima, a classy Italian Restuarant, inside the massive compound that is the Shangri_la..

our take: its worth every penny..superb food, staff that is very attentive, and friendly, ..prices are reasonable, and a nice dinner for 2 with a bottle of nice Italian chardonnay was 100 usd..will definitely come back.. if you have been here; .Boracay can be trashy, and slumlike..its not Krabi, or Phuket..so...the shang is a very nice escape..will definitely come back to this spot some time.

“The restaurant nestled in the rain forest and the evening were sensational”
Reviewed August 1, 2011

Rima is the Shangri-la's Italian restaurant which is located away from the resort and up the hill in a rain forest. Dinner there is like being in a house with the sides open to nature and the lighting is very well done, all very charming.

The food was generally outstanding. My wife and daughter thought the risotto was outstanding, done with champagne and among the best they had ever had. My son loved the soup with zuccini. I had assorted antipasta and loved four of the six items.

I was less impressed with the wine list; overpriced and fewer options at the lower price end. The service was excellent throughout the evening.
