It was a good vacation! we are beach front just steps away from the beach. the price was on our budget. they have free shuttle going around boracay. the staff was friendly. the premier room is very spacious with dinning and living room area with 2 queen size beds. I will surely go back to to Orinda boracay.

Room Tip: take your free breakfast in at the front beach table.

Unfortunately, a typhoon is rampaging the island during our ever-anticipated group outing in Boracay. Staying at Orinda made matters worse. After a very-tiring-and-full-of-delay trip, we arrived at the resort and we are instructed to wait (where are the welcome drinks you promised???) for our rooms to be ready. So what to do but wait – outdoors amidst the strong wind and for 2 hours after the scheduled check-in time. We were just so tired to complain that we even let it go when we were informed that our room will not be the one that we booked for since the CR in our supposed-to-be room is being repaired. I don’t get the sense of this since the shower in our new room also needs some repair – it’s falling off from its adjustable wall mount. On a lighter note, the room that we got is superior from the one that we originally booked for. It has a queen-sized bed (as opposed to two single beds), a much larger space and a wide window with a view of the beach – well the fence before the beach. However, I don’t feel that secured in the room as the lock on the glass door is kinda loose and cracks on the glass are randomly patched with masking tape. Moreover, you can barely identify if the staff serving you is from the resort or not since they don’t wear uniforms or any identification indicating that they’re working at the resort. Anyway, the biggest disappointment of this experience happened on the first night of our stay. The storm is at its blast that night when we went to their restaurant to have dinner. What can be worse than being greeted by the cook who said that they don’t have ingredients in their kitchen anymore (it’s just 7PM!)? The staff is kind enough to inform us about the nearest eatery from the resort, which is just around the corner from the beachfront. I don’t know if they’re really concerned when they directed us there since it’s already very dark and the tides are high (there’s a storm anyway). To relieve ourselves from more disappointments, we didn’t attempt anymore to ask help from the staff. The only edge of the place is its beachfront, which is located in one of the quietest stretch of Station 1. The resort could have been a thousand miles better if only its management knows how to train – or better else hire new – staff.

This resort is for couples and groups of friends who would like to see the quiet side of Boracay. Shuttle schedules were available (for up to groups of 12 per trip) and always on time. If the van will transport guests to the port, the resort provides a tricycle ride. Rooms are complete with hot water, aircon, cable tv. Guests may request for hot or cold water from reception area. Complimentary breakfast is good enough. Staff is very friendly and accommodating.

shuttle van: An old van with a busted aircon. Driver is not that courteous. He is not wearing a uniform.

location: Toooooooo far from the boat staion 1 white sand stretch. Poor location! Sand is not powdery. Mobile (globe) has no signal.

infrastructure: You will get to rest a while in their "restaurant" before going to your room. The restaurant is an old native hut. Front desk is located therein - actually front desk and cashier in one. Staff is not in uniform. But hey, a welcome bottled water is being offered! White table clothes seemed off-white. Little cockroaches and cats are everywhere:(. There is a tv set in there and at daytime and night time , you can see the Orinda staff (again, not in uniform, and you'll never know if some are staff or not) seated in front of the tv. Rooms and linens and pillow cases doesn't look and doesn't smell clean. Pail, "tabo" & trash bn are old. Shower curtain has stains. Bathroom door is broken. Everything in room is dusty.

utensils too doesn't look clean.

Never ever for my family and for others!

Stayed there from July 2-4, 2012

Positive points

Clean Comfort rooms
Shuttle Van Service for an interval of 3 hours
Courteous and Helpful Staff
Beach is not crowded (I could be mistaken as I booked there during the off peak season)

The Cons

Food choices are little and portions are small
The Roof is leaking when it rains
Termites are all over the place
The location is far from the nearest eatery or business hub (hence if you didn't ride the shuttle van your in for an estimate of $3 Tricycle trip to your destination)
The locks are the same on some rooms. (I read the other reviews where they tried the lock and it opened, Well I'm kinda curious so I tried it and voila It opened)

Overall it was a nice trip my advise is to have an ample amount of pocket money as most eateries in Boracay are pricey.

Room Tip: Ask for the sunset room, It lessens the stress :)
