“Perfect beach holiday - great resort!”
Reviewed January 30, 2012

I spent 4 nights at this resort with a friend over the recent Chinese New Year long weekend. We arranged transfers with the hotel from Caticlan airport, we were greeted by friendly, smiling staff at the airport, transferred to the port in a well maintained, air-conditioned van, then there was a private boat from Caticlan to Boracay, we were given cold towels and water on the short boat ride then finally there was another van to transfer us to the resort.

My first impression in terms of appearance of the resort was not great, the reception area is outdated and shabby, however, this did not really matter as once we entered the resort everything we needed was on the beach side and we did not need to go back to reception until we left. The pool is also unimpressive but again this does not matter because all the focus is on the beach and with a beach as spectacular as The White Beach so it should be!

We spent 3 nights in a Premier Ocean View room, 1 night in a Casita Honeymoon suite (it was the only room available!!) and on our final day after check-out but before we left we had access to an Executive Suite for wash facilities. All rooms were very spacious, clean and well maintained. I would recommend staying in an ocean view room or casita suite as these rooms are at the front of the resort (beach side) and have the nicest outlook. The executive suite did not have any view, it faced another building, I would not have enjoyed my stay as much if I had stayed in one of these rooms, in my opinion when staying in a place as lovely as Boracay it is a shame not to see the beach.

The deck chairs set up on the beach are very comfortable, the first row are in the full sun but the other rows provide some shade options under the palm trees - so relaxing! The staff are very attentive with drink/food orders from the deckchairs.

The food in the restaurant is good quality and there is a wide variety, as it is on the beach the setting is beautiful.

I cannot fault the staff at all, they were all so friendly and lovely to us and they would go out of their way to accommodate any of our requests.

We booked beach side massages through the resort and also a trip to the Tirta Spa, both were bliss! The spa is away from the beach atop a hill on the other side of the island, it is an amazing sanctuary, so peaceful and the treatments were top quality. There are never ending options for spas, massages and nail parlours along the beach and in D-mall but I recommend trying this spa, it has a completely different feel and also provides an opportunity to see a different side to the island.

The resort is in a great location, a beautifully quiet part of the beach but an easy stroll down to D-mall and all the other restaurants and bars that are around that area.

We stayed at this resort following a recommendation from a friend, I would definitely stay at this resort again and will recommend it to everyone! It provided a perfect base for a relaxing and fun holiday on a gorgeous island!

Room Tip: Choose an Ocean view room!!

If you need your room cleaned, want to call a spa or restaurant, book an activity, have any enquiries, the cell phone that reception provides you which SEEMS convenient at time of check-in (because the rooms have no landline phone) is completely useless. 4/5 calls on this hotel cell phone is either busy or no one picks up.

Therefore, you MUST go downstairs to reception to speak to someone directly for queries. You MUST use the hotel reception phone to make a call, IN the lobby. This is extremely inconvenient especially if you have a sleeping child or an infant. Just imagine needing another bottle of water and you have to go down to the reception area personally, because you cannot reach any service via the cell phone they provided...and your child is asleep in the room.

Also, the rooms are very dimly lit past sunset. Imagine you wanting to read a book on the bed, where the only bright lights exist and your child is sleeping. Either your child sleeps with a bright light on his face, or, DON'T read!

Boracay is a family friendly place and Ambassador's staff are friendly. However, their website advertises that they have a 24 hour 'butler,' when the truth is they have 24 hour reception area.

Be forewarned, because a five star resort should make their services always a phone call away and convenient, especially when we pay $300USD/night. Instead, we need to go down flights of stairs to get any service we need, including booking activities, even if you can get through that cell phone.

Also, there is no room service at all.

We went to Boracay for one weekend and stayed in this real 5 star resort!
If you are looking for a trip you will remember as a romantic getaway which is arranged perfectly, then go to this place. When we arrived we already thought wow what will come next...
Our room was situated right on the beach so after waking up we could go straight for a walk on this perfectly white sandy beach:-) Also there is a nice gym with a lot of equipment. Rooms are very spacious and keept nice and tidy by the hotel staff all the time. Evening food from the kitchen is also good quality. All was taken care off so good that we will definitely go back soon!

Visiting this hotel for the 3th time in 3 years, this time was januari 2012, its amazing that the staff and service, everytime is better than before. I like the friendly hospitality staff , breakfast is super and never found a more compleet breakfast else.
Rooms are big and clean, the bathroom is huge. I try 3 type`s of rooms and each room give me a good feeling, the manager gives me a upgrade to a bigger room for free, so i sleep at ,I think the best located room at the resort, named Casita , close at the beach, with a superior beach front, from were it is 20 meters from the clean beach and wonderfull blue water.
The restaurant is really 5 stars quality food with a range of fish and other european en Philipine meals, so even when you will be for more than 2 weeks a the hotel , you never have to eat the same, and every ordered meal was perfect, my compliments to the cook
Its located on the best part of Boracay.
For sure I will go back next year, I tryed several other hotels on Boracay in the past, but my number one is Ambassador in Paradise.
Thanks to the manager and the staff

Travelled all the way from Australia expecting paradise. I had food poisoning from the breakfast they served. Had bites from the bed bugs. And noticed mold on the utensils. Save yourself.

Reprimands kids for playing around the beach with their beach towels. He should draw a line at the shore if he doesnt want his towels out! Owner rude to guests, accused us pf cheating a few thousands even if we paid 300k pesos! Miss communication w staff is being accused to us. Bad!
