Okay so the best thing about this place is its location. It's a wonderful place to relax and the part of the beach is mostly algae-free unlike the shores of the populated areas in boracay. these are mostly the reasons why I convinced my parents to come visit the philippines with me and to stay in shangrila.
here comes the rude part - the second day of the stay, my dad was taking photos by the beach and some guy (probably security) by the beach started shushing him and started making hand gestures as if to tell my dad to go away. at first we were wondering why on earth the guy was trying to drive us away so I went forward and asked what was wrong. apparently, this hotel's hospitality ends with prejudiced and elitist judgment.
THEY ARE RUDE TO PEOPLE YOU ASSUME ARE NOT BOOKED TO THEIR HOTEL. Seriously. I was so embarrassed because i've preached about the hotel to my parents, saying all the good things because I've stayed at the hotel countless of times before and yet when my parents were finally convinced to visit the philippines they experience this kind of treatment?
Such a shame. Prime hotel but rude staff.More
