I spent a couple of nights at West Cove during my stay in Boracay. I have been to Boracay a number of times and I wanted to try something a little different away from White Beach and this is definately that. I have a great few days there and I would recommend the place but you need to understand it is not your regular hotel.
It is away from White Beach but is on a much smaller and not so nice beach, still adequate for swimming and better for snorkelling if thats your thing. Access to the place is from the beach and up steps so getting to and from White Beach or D'mall can be a bit of a trek but nothing too bad, there are always trikes waiting by the beach.
I liked the rooms and they were nice enough to show me a few different ones. Each room is different due to the unique nature of the place, it is built into the cliff overlooking the water. The rooms were comfortable, clean and unique, but the best point being the panaromic seaview, wonderful to wake up to and amzing for the sunsets.
Service was great, always will to help. Food was fine for breakfast but poor for dinner, and I wouldn't recomment that. It is a lovely location to have dinner overlooking the ocean in your own cabanna but the food is not up to scratch, stick to a few cocktails and eat elsewhere!
The place has the potential to be awesome but it is not finished. I couldn't really work it out as some bits look half built and abondoned and others look new and are still being worked on. It just gives the place a bit of a strange feeling but you can see the potential is there to be a unique and special hideaway.
I recommend it for a different experience, but if you are looking for a weeks stay in Boracay then stick to White Beach, or there is Nami for the cliff top experience which is next to West Cove. For a few days I thoroghly enjoyed it.........but after that it was time to leave.
