The site is magnificent. There were so many tourists so it was a little difficult to get a good shot because people were in the way. Otherwise the place is amazing. I love the many steps to get to the top of the viewing spot. I highly recommend this visit to all tourists.

Enjoyed seeing this natural scenery, even if on a day of rain and general cloudiness...in a season where they aren't chocolate but "mint green."

Tip to all; just ask some locals which buses will take you there...everyone was very helpful and instead of wasting too much time on a pre-packaged tour, we were able to get a local feel. Total roundtrip bus travel from Loboc was only 70 pesos...though it does take about 1 hour from Loboc, ~2 hours from Tagbilaran.

It only takes about 15 minutes to walk up the hill/road that overlooks the chocolate hills. They have minimal hawkers there trying to sell items...and one of the local stands half-way up the hill sells water and banana chips at a great price (if you didn't come prepared).

If you really want an adventure, you can see a dirt road looking down from the overlook hill road...head down that and just a little ways, you can take a trail up to the top of the closest chocolate hill. It's not easy, and at a minimum, you'll get many "paper cuts" on your hands (if green bushes are in season by holding onto them). At worst, it could possibly cause injuries on folks either fit or not...but anyway, we enjoyed that adventurous hike.

By the way, the bathrooms at the overlook on the back side were pretty nice.

We visited the Chocolate Hills on a day tour from Alona Beach. In my mind, they were the thing to see in Bohol and the culmination of the tour. Please do not have as high expectations as I did. It is a beautiful landscape, but not the most amazing sight in the world. Regardless, I recommend seeing them. Be prepared to climb the stairs and fight off the crowds in order to get a decent photograph.

We were glad to have seen the hills. There were many good chances for photo ops. Although it was difficult to take good ones with the crowds of people. You can also spend 100 pesos for a professional photo taken with the hills as a backdrop. We decided to take our own pictures with the same backdrop and they turned out very well. It is pretty far from Alona we stopped here as part of a day trip. I don't think I would make the trip here just to see the hills.
