The rooms were comfortable and clean. The service was good but very laid back. At the resort there isn't much to do. So we decided to spend the day at pool and drink the whole cocktail menu. There are activities like paddle boarding and canoeing to the sandbar. There isn't much to see when snorkeling and the water is not the best quality. The resort itself is well laid out and is a different place to stay with cool beach style villas. It had a beach resort vibe in the middle of busy streets. The music playlist was also great which added to the atmosphere.

I was in the Philippines for a family matter and had two days with not much to do so I decided to try to see whale shark. I asked friends where I should stay and someone I have known for a long time told me to try Blue Palawan. Once you arrive in Puerto Princesa it takes awhile for them to take you to the hotel but you get to wait in an air conditioned van. The hotel is close by and has clean rooms and a pool. No beach. Just a sea wall. Didn't use the pool. The only thing I did there was take the kayak out once to see if there was anything in the water. A couple of turtles is all I saw but there were local fishermen so there must have been something to catch. I was happy with the food although I thought they gave too much for people traveling alone. The portions were to share so I didn't order some things as I knew I would waste them. I see the complaints about noise but had none of those problems while I was there. Would stay here again if I wanted to be close to the only real city in Palawan.

We read the reviews online. So I was extremely confused when I arrived at the hotel with a very unwelcoming staff.

They were playing loud music. I really thought that this place had more finesse.

Marlon our waiter was nice. He was extremely patient with the password of the wifi.

The ladies weren't as sweet as him.
I would wave and they would pretend not to see me. I had to go over there just to get the menu.

There were only four of us.
Me and my Bf and two strangers by the pool side.

I was asking if ever they knew what time the water would come up (low tide) , I wanted to go wake boarding. The ladies replied to me as if I was asking something incredibly stupid.

I kept my cool coz they were serving our food. I was glad Marlon was there. Because he was the only nice staff there.

This is wonderful place to stay at, with their spacious rooms (more like mini houses), quiet location and courteous people. We stayed for 4 days and 3 nights, being able to enjoy what blue palawan has to offer, from good food to amenities, they were all amazing. We especially enjoyed our early morning kayaking and afternoon/late night pool swims, I don't if it was just us, but the pool water is "softer" than in other pools, which is why we loved swimming everyday. Highly recommended is an understatement. We'll definitely go back!:)

I was organising a holiday to the Philippines to visit my dad in Manila but also wanted to do some island hopping around Palawan, Bohol and Boracay. My first island stop was Palawan. I wasn’t keen on the hotels the travel agent found for me, so I did my own research and came across the Blue Palawan. I am so glad I did because I was thrilled when my friend and I arrived for our 4 night stay. We were picked up at the airport by the hotel shuttle and given cool towels and ice cold water whilst we were transferred to the Blue Palawan. On arriving we were greeted by the wonderfully, friendly staff and given a complimentary cocktail. I have no idea what the cocktail was, but it was delicious. Check in was quick and we were shown to our villa which was fabulous. Our villa was in a great location with a gorgeous view. It was a lovely size with two double bed, double sinks, double showers and very good air con (which we needed). My only quibble is that a mini fridge would have been ideal to leave bottles of water and snacks inside.

Breakfast was a buffet which I enjoyed each morning and more than filled me up for the day. The pool was a great size for the number of villas there, and on the one day that my friend and I decided to have a lazy day we had the pool to ourselves which was great. The bar staff bring you ice water constantly so there is no reason for you to get dehydrated. Unfortunately I didn’t use any of the water sports equipment which was a shame (hopefully next time). My friend and I also had dinner there most nights and I can highly recommend the lechon kawali!

We had organised a lot of excursions and the reception staff were fantastic at updating us on pick up times and anything else that we needed to be aware of.
We spent our evenings relaxing by the poolside bar listening to the chilled out music and checking out the amazing sunsets.

There are lots of tricycles outside the Blue Palawan to take you into town or the mall at the end of the road. At the end of the 4 nights, reception organised the shuttle to take us back to the airport so we could continue onto our next island - Bohol.

If you do visit Palawan, then I recommend the Honda Bay Island Hopping excursion. That was definitely my favourite trip on that island.

I highly, highly recommend the Blue Palawan. Everyone we met there was fantastic – friendly, welcoming, helpful and so cheerful….and I loved the vibe and the music they played in the bar/restaurant/pool. I need to get that playlist :-)

Room tip: We were in Villa 9 and I really liked the location. Not too close to the bar/restaurant so it was a little quieter.
