Owner description: A romantic dinner at the floating restaurant and a magical tour with Firefly.

It's P600 per boat and all the fireflies are on the mangroves. The boat trip is about 45 minutes in pitch black. There is no flash photography allowed, so you really can't take any pictures or video. Essentially you're looking at lights on a Christmas Tree. Just not worth the time and money.

It was an exciting trip--we saw fireflies lighting the dark place. We even had some fireflies cupped in our palms. The boatmen even made for us some birds out of leaves.

If you're thinking of fireflies flying around you while you watch the moon reflected in the calm waters - then you've been influenced by too much TV!

The boat ride through the river was nice and calm though. It was a clear night when we went so the stars above us were just breath-taking. And once we were deep enough in the river, surrounded by mangroves, we caught a glimpse of the fireflies. They lighted up the trees like tiny little Christmas lights. They only reside in a particular type of mangrove, so they were just a few trees that were lighted up. Don't expect a close up encounter with them though because the boat can't get too close to the mangroves because of the shallow water...

I believe it costs us 600 pesos per pax for this tour but personally it is worth trying. Bring good cameras since you won't be able to use your flash here. It was a great experience.

I'd recommend this over a visit to Bakers Hill or other 'touristy' activities because this one has real novelty to it. It's actually very romantic and just a good way to spend 30-45 mins. Just make sure that when you go, the night is really black (or the moon isn't full), otherwise you wont fully experience the beauty of the symphony of firefly lights.
