“Firefly watching + Star gazing = Perfection”
Reviewed January 10, 2013

The combination of both activities I love in one boat ride was remarkably awe-inspiring. This is way better than the fire fly watching we had in Bohol.

Best relaxing and sentimental experience I had in Puerto Princesa.

“enchanting experience”
Reviewed January 7, 2013

We did the Firefly tour on New Year Eve. It has been a perfect starry night and the combined view of starts and of thousands of fireflys shining on the mangrove trees it has been simply magical and unforgettable. We didn't eat on the boat tour as we had already booked in the city for a New Year Eve Buffet, but if you take the tour any other day you can have a simple, nice dinner in the dark of the lagoon on the boat before going back.
When you arrive at the entrance of the Mangrove river, you need to move to a smaller rowing boat. The tour inside the mangroves takes about 40 m' and during this time, if you are lucky, you can see thousands of firefly decorating the mangroves as christmas trees. They do not fly in the middle of the river, as my little daughter was expecting (maybe to catch them....), but they all stay at the sides on the mangroves trees and illuminate the river and the dark night with their fascinating little lights. I definitively recommend it, especially if you have kids!

“Very Serene and Peaceful”
Reviewed January 4, 2013

This was an excellent tour, we went on a night with a full moon, the guide Edison, knew his stuff and we saw a tremendous amount of fireflies! Our family was amazed (we don't have fireflies in California). The dinner provided was fresh seafood and shell fish grilled just before we left. All-in-all a wonderful experience.

“Not as Popular in PP, but just as Magical!”
Reviewed December 30, 2012

Educational, Fun, Magical. Not as advertised as the Hunda Bay and Underground River Tour, but a must see attraction you shouldn't miss! I won't say much here, better have your buddy boatman educate you while lighting up the night with nature's fairy(fire) lights!

It is essential to always use insect repellent.

“Quite Magical on a Clear Night”
Reviewed December 25, 2012

There were a lot less fireflies than I had expected, but then the guide had explained that the insects were attracted to only certain species of mangrove trees, hence we saw only some trees (not all) "lit up". The fireflies were pretty huge compared to what I had experienced of these beauties, and each one glowed very brightly. Still worthwhile and quite magical on a clear and moonless night, when you could also gaze at the millions of stars in the sky.
