“Good Tour Package - Average Hotel”
Reviewed March 11, 2012

My family and I took advantage of the Plan B tour package to see the Underground River and Honda Bay. We had the package modified to see the Iwahig Penal colony. They picked us up at the Airport on time, brought us to good restaurants every night. The price was great. The hotel is only OK. The organization behind the front counter leaves a lot to be desired and the room was not ready even hours after we arrived.

Room Tip: The rooms at the end of the hall seem to have a little more space.

most of the staff is very friendly in this hotel. my room was clean even by central european standards. you will get two bottles of water and a kettle with free tea and free coffee every day which is very unusual in the phils. a decent breakfast buffet was included in the price. the breakfast restaurant is converted into a coffee shop after 10 serving delicious food for low prices.
the design of the room was nicely done, it had towel racks and even electric plugs in the bathroom !! sensational for the phils!
negatives: the water pressure was too low in the shower. in the early morning heavy equipment started construction activities right in front of my window.
the web signal was weak in the room but it was strong enough for browsing the web without interruptions. when i tried to access my business applications i found that they had locked port 1745. as a result i could neither access my trading application nor my vpn. i asked the front desk for the IT guy to call me in my room in order to open port 1745. nothing happened for 1.5 days. i decided to check out. when i told them about it , the staff did not seem to care.

my guess is that they employ an uneducated contractor for the IT system who is not able to get it right. the wireless web of the hotel is not even protected with a password.

Stayed there for 4days/3 nites and asked to be moved rooms. The bathroom was leaking, asked the technicians and the front desk to fix but it was still flooded when we returned from our tours. We were given a windlowless room, which shared a wall with the fitness center. At 7PM, ear blasting music was played to an aerobics class-I was shocked that they thought this was perfectly acceptable! The aircon blew directly at people sleeping so I couldn;t sleep very well at night either because cold air was being blown at me, but it was too hot to turn off.
The food was good and people were nice except for the above mishaps!

Stayed at the A&A Plaza Hotel for 4 nights. The staff members were very friendly. It was a nice stay. The restaurant on the main floor is very cheap, and has great food. We also booked our tours through the hotel, and had airport shuttle service. Very smooth with that. Clean hotel rooms, daily housekeeping. Would recommend.

We visited Puerto Princesa on Dec 2011. A&A Plaza Hotel is a very good hotel considering its price of P599/pax inclusive of airport transfer and breakfast. The room is spacious enough with hair dryer, cabinet, safe, drinking glass and a complimentary bottled water. Bathroom is ok with hot water. The room doesn't have a window but I don't mind that. Breakfast buffet is really good with choices of rice, cereals or bread. I should've given them 5 stars but we had this incident where we were waiting for our tour operator (not connected with the hotel) around 7am. We expect the receptionist to call us once they arrived. it's almost 8am but we didn't receive any call. We thought the operator was late only to find out they they asked the receptionist to call us 3 times already starting 7:15am. It's humiliating because it was a group tour and other customers might think we're late. anyways we already talked to them after the tour and hope they will improve on that next time.

Room Tip: choose a room not fronting the street as it is quieter

We went to Puerto Princesa last Aug 2011. We made arrangements online with A&A. They really offer cheap tour package and the place is very nice! Very cozy, and accessible. We would surely want to visit this place again!

we were very excited on our second day bec. it's the day that we are going to visit the much promoted Underground river.upon check-in the previous day we booked & paid the tour tru the hotel , we were instructed that the pick-up time was 7:00 - 7:30 am. we wake up very early & was already waiting at the lobby before 7:00 am...we waited...& waited &........waited some more...the hotel owner even helped in following up the tour vehicle...we were picked at what time?? 10:30 am & not with the tour van but with the personal car of i don't know who...3 1/2 hours of lost time...the excitement were gone...we no longer see the beauty that palawan offers because of just 1 tour operator (MAPLE) if more tourist will experience the same thing for sure palawan tourism industry will never grow....we told ourselves never to go back there...in fairness to palawan as a place...it is very nice it just needs more development....1 tour operator ruined our vacation.. a word of advice...never use that operator (Maple) if you are planning to visit palawan & other places
