They have the best people around. Will make you feel very special. Very warm!

They have nice, clean, and spacious rooms at affordable prices. Good food for breakfast with a great view from the saratoga room.

We decided to stay at Kookaburra Travel Lodge because of the proximity to the beach ( 5 mins walk) and peaceful. Breakfast was included w/ airport pick/drop off. The rooms are small just right for 2 adults and a child, however bathrooms and toliet are clean with running water and hot/cold showers. Staff are friendly, always happy to provide assistance with daily trips. Butch (hotel manager) was there to welcome us, King at the front desk always have a smiling face, need anything ask King. Butch, van driver is always happy to take you shopping at the local market or souvenir shop. Dex works at night and always happy to take your breakfast orders and Raymond is also happy to serve breakfast. The hotel is fairly new just opened last year so the building and surrounding are clean and maintained. If you want take out order, you can always use the dining room in the hotel. In general, people in Palawan are honest and respectful, they value your visit and your contribution to their economy.
Sightseeing: Butterfly world, only if you like butterflies, not too many species to see so it was ok for me. Alligator farm is worth seeing, visit and you might learn something new, if you pay 60 pesos, you can hold a baby alligator and take pictures as well. Try to buy t-shirts here, it seems the prices here are cheaper than anywhere else. Local prison Iwahin is worth visiting, only minimum security inmates are allowed to work in the farm and the local gift store, beware the local inmates will sell hand crafted souvenirs to help them with their personal needs, dont worry they are friendly. We bought souvenirs to help them. Underground Cave is worth seeing, its beautiful! even the boat ride going there was refreshing at least the kids enjoyed the ride and thrill. My favorite was Island hopping to Honda Bay, this is my first time to go snorkeling and I enjoyed it tremendously, if you forgot or did not bring your snorkeling gear, dont worry rent one from the wharf and waterproof camera can also be rented. Better to go early so you can go to as many islands as possible, we went to 4 islands, Pandan was my favourite and Starfish. Also, there are user fees to pay whether you are stopping to snorkel or to use a hut (if its a hot day, you need a hut). In Pandan island, no need to rent a hut as there are some shady places to hang out, also beware of the beach fly called niknik, they tend to bite so you might feel a sting. The boat guide will ask you where you want to go. We found the boat guides work hard to provide you with good experience, they also guide you to the snorkling, we were happy to give them tip. There are a lot of restaurants in Puerto Princessa with good food, however we found that once we get our meals, they tend to forget you until you are ready to pay for the food so giving tips is not necessary. Pearls are cheap here, good for souvenirs, try to treat yourself for a south sea pearl, they are cheap here, I bought a few for myself, ask Butch (driver) he will contact seller.

I was on my vacation during November on a really tight budget and was sort of last minute heading over for my cousins wedding in Cebu. I decided spur of the moment towards the end of it I needed to get out and see more of Philippines as im not there all the time so i rounded up my mates from Manila and decided on this hotel in Palawan. none of us have been to Palawan before but figured most islands are similar in getting around.... It was ideal!! Was looking for something affordable close to the airport. In my mind i figured WHY SPEND SO MUCH on fancy hotels when i knew i was going to Palawan to see it for its natural beauty. To my suprise for the cost of the hotel room i assumed it wud be the typical kind of just simple beds with matresses and a old tv. BUT to my suprise was more than typical! they had high bed heads so can hang clothes or towels off it. had a mini fridge, tv with cable and wifi in the lobby!! came with complimentary juice, Breakfast included with a number of choices. They had hot water available in the showers. IT WAS PERFECT as we were only there to shower, sleep and eat. The service was great. Everyone there from the driver who picked us up at the airport to the the Beautiful young lady at the front desk and the guys that took our bags to our rooms. They were more than accomodating. They were warm and welcoming. The view was ok from the rooms. to be honest i never looked out the window as was not there for that reason BUT the view from the top level where breakfast is served was great. Lush green scenery with the ocean on the horizon and mountains in the far distance. Location was great too. wasnt so close in the city but still close enough. I would reccomend this hotel to anyone. For the price you pay for it oddly enough is better than other places you pay for the same price and get much less for its worth. Oh and another thing that one of the staff pointed out which was cool was the paint job on the exterior.. in the day light the paint seems to be bright and bald but as the sun sets it changes to a rich darker tone.. NOT THE SHADOW but the paint itself.. i thought that was different in itself.

Kookaburra Travel Lodge had been are haven during our vacation here last 2009 Christmas.

The location is just perfect not too distant to the festive city proper and just a steps away from the white sand beach.

Transportation will never be problem for people who dare to walk and try different kinds of rides like their unique style of tricycle.

Indeed Palawan is wonderful, simply amazing God's creation and natures last paradise.

We went to Palawan last November 25 and stayed at Kookaburra Lodge. The people there are very accommodating, friendly and hospitable. If you are looking for a place to stay that is quiet, clean, and cozy, Kookaburra Lodge would be perfect place for you. It's a 10 mins drive away from the City proper but the view is perfect. overlooking the beach and has tall tress around the Lodge. I would recommend it to all who would like peace and quiet get away.
