Peaceful place. Good for the family. Excellent staff can't say anything against them. They even allowed us to bring fresh seafood from the market and their restaurant actually cooked it for us for a very minimal fee. Highly advisable place to stay. With such good things in this place the owner should be the next Mayor of Puerto Princessa.

We're here last April 2010. We arrived here on our second day in Puerto Princesa because we didn't like our first hotel. The general manager of this resort, Sheryl, is really nice. When we arrived, we immediately headed to the beach front and the only thing we said is "WOWW."

The place is peaceful and very relaxing. The place is quiet and really perfect for relaxation. We had our videoke night and it was fun. There is free transpo service from their resort to any of the restaurant you want to have lunch or dinner. They will make the reservation for you because most of the restaurant here in Puerto Princesa have lots of people eating because their food is really good!!

I cannot say anything more but I really can't forget this resort being the most peaceful and relaxing place I've ever been to.

Was looking through tripadvisor for lodging in Puerto Princesa that would be close to the beach. Found the perfect place in Dangkalan..well, almost. Availed of their package promo, which would include r/t airport transfers, daily shuttle to the heart of the city, a city tour, Underground River tour and Honda Bay tour with a fantastic lunch spread for the river and bay tour, breakfast and a huge room, all for P12,500 (around $280) for 2 pax for 3 nights! Upon reaching the place, we found the treehouse to be more enticing, as this was perched on a tree right smack infront of the beachside. So we requested to be transferred there the next day. Sheryll was very helpful in accomodating all our requests. The treehouse was kinda cool, as there was this quaint balcony with chairs and tables where you can just sit all day staring out to the sea, with heavy seawind blowing in your face as they bring you cocktails and drinks up the tree. The room was so-so, but then again, it is a treehouse, so dont expect anything fancy. It had a nice bed, a large shelf to place all your stuff, really cold airconditioning, cable TV and a tiny bath area. There is a bar beside the pool and billiards area where you can hang out. There is also free WiFi around that area.

It is quite secluded and far from the city, therefore, very peaceful and quiet. There are no crowds on the beachfront. Just you, some other guests, and several locals. This brings me to the downside.

Since it is far from anything, unless you choose to avail of their shuttle to the city, you will be forced to eat there. Food leaves so much to be desired. Plus the fact that their kitchen and bar staff seem to bored and unattentive, compared to Sheryll, the roomboys, the guards and the tour staff. They were all friendly and always on their toes. We only ate there once (aside from the daily breakfast), and just went out to the city to eat.

All in all, this is highly recommended if you want beachfront accomodations in Puerto Princesa. It is very peaceful, quiet, away from the madness of the city and the crowds, and of course, the price cant be beat!

This place offers great customer service. I’ll start will the manager who was very approachable and make sure that you enjoy everything Palawan could offer. The staff was so amazing with their smiling faces every time they see you. If you have plans to go to Puerto Princesa, have Dangkalan manage your tourist trips and I’m sure that you’ll not regret it. The only downside of staying in this resort would be the beachfront and I do hope that they will spend some money to restore the beauty of it just like Palawan’s snake island.  We’ll see you again this summer Sheryl as I will have you manage our daily trips! God Bless to your resort.

Overall a very nice resort to stay at. We stayed in one of the cottage type family rooms which was very nice and quaint. The swimming pool is good and the beach is just a hop and skip away. The tree house looks nice even though we did not stay there. I would advise all couples to get the tree house it looks fun and overlooks the bay area. But it seems to be reserved far in advance so be prepared but it really is a room built in to a Dangkalan tree with a stairway going up to the room. Some negative points for me were the restaurant closes at 8PM yes you can order drinks after 8PM but I want a late night snack and the kitchen is closed. I would advise to have diet soda drinks available for those guests on a diet or trying to watch their calories. The burger with fries is a special treat it is a succulent juicy DOUBLE patty burger with a large serving of fries. The burger will put McDonalds and Jollibee to shame! I say try it for sure!! if you stay at some other resort then you really should go the Dangkalan just for this burger. One other negative point is it is located far from the city central so you will have to have the front desk call for a tricycle or find your own mode of transportation to the city central. Yes it can be expensive for the ride in to the city. Maybe the resort should offer a free ride in to and back from the city like four times a day or something like that. I wish there was a jeepney along BM highway that one could take going to the business district of the city. Their beach is not the most pristine but it is still better than most other beaches. One other note is the road from the highway to the resort itself is rough dirt road with a lot of holes to avoid along the way. If you are in a tricycle or van it can be a ride that will toss you around. I hope that maybe the city could get the road paved soon. Other than that I would say overall the resort is excellent for your trip to Palawan. As noted in other reviews Sheryl really goes out of her way to make the guests feel like a king and queen for their stay. In the front office there is the desk for Asialinks tourist office and again great service there look for Gelyn she will go out of her way to help you. I wish Sheryl were on duty all of the time because she really does a great job taking care of any problems the guests may have. Sheryl and the rest of the staff will be there for the guest every time and on time.

we stayed here in Dangkalan resort last Aug 2010 for 4days and 3 nights.
I could say that the manager Sheryl is very very nice...the staff too are all nice and greeted you all smiles :). The room is just fine, nothing extraordinary, but if you need anything like extra pillows or blanket, they will give you right away :)
The breakfast is nothing but toast, egg and hotdog :( too bad when you're a breakfast person...i get hungry even before 10AM because of this, but atleast the tour they arranged for us is really great, fun and food is superb! now i can forget the breakfast...

Since they don't deny they are located in a secluded place, better not to stay late exploring the city or you will end up calling the guard to open the gate, yes they close the gate at 10PM.. how come a resort will close their gate in a peaceful Puerto Princesa? I still don't get this...

I can still recommend for couple who wants peaceful, relaxing and quiet atmosphere... but for those barkada or family who wants to explore Puerto Princesa city by themselves during their stay or those who wants to have dinner outside the resort and lost track of time...then get ready for an expensive, bumpy and dark fright night travel on a tricycle. The resort van can get you into the city, but you will return to resort on your own!
