Likes: good breakfast options, very filling and delicious. their salad bar is really good. i was surprised that they had tasty veggies considering that palawan does not produce a lot of veggies. the food is a bit pricey though. my colleagues had to split food that were supposed to be good for 1.
over-all i like the room. beds were really comfy. it even had a tiny balcony where you can smoke. the bathroom was also really nice.
as for amenities, i liked the free wi-fi (slow though), the pool and the awesome view.
Dislikes: kind of inaccessible if you'd like to stay out at night especially since you'd have to hire a tricycle that charges you 150php one way. no lift but the staff are ready to help you with your luggage.

Room Tip: choose the ground floor for quick exterior access and avoid the noise that some staff can make

Thank you for taking the time to write a review. It is heartening to know that you liked the food, our beds, our rooms and facilities. Rest assured that we are working on the things you didn't like (the slow wi-fi; the price of some of the food items).
The distance of the Hotel from the City (roughly 20 minutes) can be both a bane and a boon for some travelers. On one hand, it provides guests with a tranquil respite from the hustle and bustle of the City; on the other hand, it can be a bit inconvenient if you want to be closer to the nightlife that the City offers. We've tried to bridge this gap by offering our guests free scheduled shuttle service to and from the City -- something that I think has been very much appreciated by our guests. In this way, they get the best of both worlds!
Thanks again for your honest review and we hope to get the chance to welcome you again here in Microtel Puerto Princesa.

We stayed here for two nights after staying at Daluyon. The difference is "night and day". This resort is busier. The pool was great, but the beach wasn't "swimmer friendly" during low tides as you have to walk a ways out.. Especially after seeing bug repellant in the guestrooms with a warning about insects on their beaches.

The view of the beach is great but I didn't want to try it out and took my chances with the pool.

The shuttle service a great service to have.

Room Tip: ask for a room behind the hotel that faces out to the beach. You can open your balcony door and have the beach directly outside.

Thank you for your candid review. It was unfortunate that you didn't get to see the beach during high tide -- aside from swimming, you can even do kayaking! And even during low tides, there are still plenty of things to see and do at the beach.
The insect repellent we provide free for our guests also serves as a reminder to take the necessary precautions whenever you plan to explore the great outdoors. Other things to remember -- bring sunblock, shades, googles, snorkels, hats or caps, a camera would be nice, but most especially, swimsuits! It's more fun in the sun at Microtel Puerto Princesa!

I highly recommend microtel, because it provides all your needs and give you a very relaxing and memorable stay. the staffs were very good - they were all polite, knowledgeable, and courteous. Also the rooms were very cheap indeed some of the guest stay for a long time. even though the hotel is located far from the city, still they provide free shuttle. :)

Room Tip: standard room and premium rooms are both nice but some guest chooses the premium room which is facing the beach.

Thank you for you positive review, Ms. Tirisa! We are happy to know that all our staff, especially Mitch, were able to meet your needs. While opening branches in other Southeast Asian countries is still a long way off, we are pleased to let you know that you can enjoy the same great Microtel experience in all our other properties all over the Philippines -- from Baguio, Cabanatuan, and Tarlac up north, to Cavite, Batangas and Pasay (Mall of Asia) further south, to the white-sand beaches of Boracay and all the way down south in Davao. And opening soon are other Microtels in General Santos and in Libis, Quezon City!

staying at Microtel was a good decision for our big family. in between tours to the underground river, the city, and honda bay, when some wanted to stay in to rest, the kids had the pool to enjoy and the teens had the beach to stroll along (not really dip in as it's very shallow). breakfast was very relaxing. beautiful view of the sea with hammocks by the bay.

Room Tip: suite had kitchenette... cool spot to hang out, coffee and snacks, while catching up about the day's fun, without sand going on the beds :)

Thank you for your great review. We are glad that you and your family enjoyed your stay. We hope to welcome you again here in Microtel when you decide to visit Puerto Princesa once more. There are still plenty of things to do and see here -- you can paddle your way through a winding river between centuries-old mangrove trees, watch dolphins and whalesharks in the crystal clear waters off Puerto Princesa Bay, fly through the jungle on one of the longest ziplines in Asia in Irawan Eco-Park, or see hundreds of fireflies as you meander through Iwahig or Sicsican rivers. There's something for everyone here in Puerto Princesa City!
