i had such a bad experience going to honda bay. when u go there u have to get the highest paid travel agent to have a boat. U cant be able to get a boat by yourself using the port's services especially if u have flights. u will line up for about 2 hours to get nothing. i thought that this is a government regulated office but not tourist friendly if u dont have tourist guides or a travel agency. i know that this service is for a living but they are not just to hospitable to tourists. In foreign countries they treat their own people with dignity. unfortunately, its all about the money and travel agents

The only good place to go for island hopping while you are in puerto princessa. it is only 30 mins away from town to the pier where you take a boat to one of the few islands.

The islands are private. You have to further pay minimal maintenance fee to the island. You need to pay environment fee etc at the pier before they take you on the boat.

The islands do not have white sands like Boracay or El Nido. The sand is however, soft and golden. As this part of the island is alive with coral, many parts of the beach are not suitable for swimming near shore. It is however, easy to snorkel.

it is not noisy or crowded so you can actually enjoy yourself under the sun.

Will definitely go back if i'm back again.

Honda Bay which is only about 30 mins from the airport can be reached by tricycle or if you have a group tour, I recommend Travel Wise Palawan which includes island hopping (3 islands only) lunch, fish feeding and sightings. You need to bring snorkling gear and aqua shoes for safety. Also underwater camera/phone cases. It can be rented : P150 each for the gear and shoes, P200 for the camera case. The tour guide will prepare lunch for you, then buy bread for the fish feeding. I enjoyed the experience though we had to wait a few minutes at the wharf as to arrange the boat

we got the 5 island package.

1st stop cowrie island. this where we ate lunch buffet. the food was not that bad. i was expecting more on seafood but they served more meat than seafood. the food was not that bad. for the beach, it was clean and the water was clear. they also offered massage.

2nd stop was pandan island. nice snorkling site. plenty fishes teying to get the bread from my hand!!! bad side of the island, you have to rent the tables and chairs or the hut.

3rd stop was the star fiah island. nothing to see but starfish. the beach was full of rocks and corals. make sure you wear shoes when walking along the beach.

4th stop. pambato reef. good sight to see corals.

5th and last stop. luli island. nice beach with mangroves behind the beach.

If you are in Puerto Prinsessa and have a day to spare, make sure to checknout Honda Bay. The islands are beautiful! After spending a couple of days island hopping in El Nido, I thought I wouldn't be too impressed by Honda Bay, but ibwas totally wrong. It is very different from El Nido, with flat islands and nice beaches.

During my visit I spotted wild dolphins and lionfish, along with a number of different other fish.

Definitely go!
