For us, staying in PP after a week in El Nido, was just for the opportunity to go to Sabang for the Underground River Tour, and also a side trip to The Iwahig Prison. So after that infamous 6 hour van ride from paradise [El Nido], I can't tell you how happy we were to be at The Hibiscus Garden Hotel; where upon arrival the staff were so helpful and attentive; and after storing our bags in our spacious and comfortable rooms; we all gathered in the Kubo out in the beautful garden setting, where we had cold drinks, and the most delicious wood brick oven pizza for palutan. What a great way to chill out, and totally relax; listening to all the different sounds of the birds, and the odd Tuko; which the garden setting attracts. The following day, after our tours, we repeated our arrival procedure all over again.
Both nights,we had the most wonderful sleep, as our room was very sound proof; we asked for a wakeup call for the day of the tour; which at 5:30 am went off without a hitch. On the day of our departure, we were pleasantly surprised to find out there was a free shuttle service to the airport.
All in all, we had a wonderful stay; beautiful and peaceful setting, good restaurant, great service, at an affordable price.

Area's just close to the airport, with free airport shuttle to the area. Their restaurant's offers variety of meals which is just "okay" when you really are starving. I was really swept away with eating your meals by the garden :) Basic toiletries but bed's just fine for a tiring flight from MNL to PPS. Staff was indeed friendly and accommodating enough for our needs plus the hammock outside the rooms are a plus factor!

This is my first time to check into the Hibiscus Garden Hotel in Puerto Princesa. My first time in this city. The first thing I noticed is the warm welcoming smiles that makes this place special. The lush tropical foliage is a labor love. The gardener actually takes the sprouts from the mature trees, plant it somewhere in the garden. The ripe mango shake is a must. My partner and I have room # 9 with a private closed in garden and hammock and its fab. Due to the location, mosquitoes can be vicious and the hotel staff places coils around the common areas by dusk. I would recommend bringing insect repellent, since the last mosquito on earth would find me.
The dining area is spacious as well as the rooms.the staff is friendly, sincere and very chill. The location is accessible to public transport, restaurants and a spa place.
The only thing I would recommend is to add a PayPal capability for reservation instead of wiring money. It took me days from the US to wire a small amount due to security. Paypal would have been a few clicks. Other than that, the overall experience is fab.

Stayed in this hotel over the new year.

Room was a little old and dark plus loads of mosquitoes, but those are the only major negative points.
Other than that, staff were friendly, neighbours were friendly, breakfast could be consumed in the café or served right outside your room.
I really liked the garden which is attached to the room.

Stayed 2 nights, nice garden setting. Helpful and attentive staffs. Room rates are reasonable (1800 pesos), value for money.
Quite near the airport and city proper. Taking a trike to the city proper will cost only 20 pesos for 2 pax.

Poor wifi signal in rooms though, had to go to lobby or restaurant just to connect. .

We stayed three nights at Hibiscus Garden, and found it to be a pleasant refuge from otherwise unremarkable Puerto Princesa. The town is a jumping off point for other places on Palawan, and has few sights of its own, so hotel location is not critical.

Hibiscus Garden is a bit out of town, but near the airport, which probably matters more, and offers free airport pick up and delivery, a good benefit. The center is a 20-peso tricycle ride away; the intercity bus terminal should set you back 100.

Hotel buildings and vehicles are clean and well maintained, and the grounds are well-tended. There is an open air restaurant, but breakfast is not included. The rooms are arrayed around an informal garden. Each has its own table and chairs as well as a hammock just outside.

The rooms are spacious, but the lighting could be better. The beds are comfortable, the AC strong and the bathroom functional. Service is attentive and helpful. Rooms are made up every day. Prices are a tad high for what you get, but not outlandish.

As in most Asian lodgings, WiFi is weak and only really works in the hotel lobby.

If you have to lay over in Puerto Princesa, you are unlikely to find a better place to do it.

This was one of the nicest places we have stayed in. Rooms were immaculate, beds comfortable, nice TV's and decent Wi-Fi connections.
Bathrooms were spacious with hot water for showers. As an added bonus, they had the refrigerated stocked with water, beer, soft drinks, etc. Prices for these was minimal. Staff was wonderful and customer service was excellent. The breakfast choices were all good and plenty to eat. They arranged our Underground River tour which we enjoyed. I would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Choose a bigger room. It's worth the extra $15.00
