“Cool location, comfy bungalow's - ideal for El Nido”
Reviewed January 8, 2014

I stayed here for 5 nights and it was very enjoyable. The staff were excellent and attentive. It is located at one end of the bay so it is away from the party noise at night which can be good. The bungalows are attached in rows. The shower was pretty good. Now El Nido only has power from 2pm - 6am so it can get very hot in the morning without the AC so it gets you up and ready for the day as well. Breakfast was pretty nice everyday. All bungalows have a nice balcony out front. The best housekeeping staff I have ever experienced, the folded my underwear and all my clothers. They even hung up a buddy of mines jocks in the closet! They also can run various island hopping tours as well and I went on a bunch of these. The boat crew is absolutely fantastic and I cannot praise them enough. During the full day tours they cook a mean BBQ on some random island that we chose to stop on. Snorkeling gear is available FOC but you have to rent the flippers at a cost of 100pesos a day if you want them. Once the power is on the AC makes the rooms nice and cool and all the beds have mosquito nets just in case. I loved this place and I hope someday soon I will be back!

Room Tip: Go for the bungalows that only have the one floor, there are a couple with 2 floors.

I traveled with my husband, my 2 adult children and a 2-year old grandson, We came from Puerto Princesa City, Palawan and took the 6-hour van ride to El Nido. The roads were alternately smooth, then bumpy and rocky yet, we felt safe and confident we'll get to El Nido in no time! Upon arrival in Lally & Abet Beach Cottages, we were welcomed by the Front Desk staff, Ms. Malou. Our family room was spacious and stuffed with clean towels and soap. The Family Cottage room was just beside the beach front so we could hear the waves all the time. We've always wanted to experience a beach house. But there was a disadvantage because motorcycles and tricycles, even fishermen were always passing by or staying just outside our window and it was disturbing especially in the wee hours of the morning. Electricity was off from 6 am to 2 pm so we had to open our windows. Then the noises outside became more apparent! Hope that Management can do something about this.

Water was available all the time so it was convenient to take baths whenever we needed one after fun at the beach or just strolling around the place. Lally and Abet was relatively a quiet beach area, not too many commercial stores or restaurant around. Walking distance though, you can find fine restaurants, at relatively good prices for quality food, small sari-sari (convenient) stores, and Massage Spa to have a relaxing massage after a hectic day. The church was also close by. Staff at the restaurant of Lally and Abet were always ready to attend to our needs, friendly and accommodating and had our breakfast ready at the time we asked them to prepare it every morning!

Overall, our family experience was very memorable and satisfying! Although away from our own families during the holidays, El Nido was made special and memorable because of our stay here! Thank you to the Management and Staff of Lally & Abet! More power to you!!!

Room Tip: The family room in the Garden area may be another good choice but it is not a beach front.

Location: (the cottages)..in more quiet location, but just around 5minutes walk to happenings..

Room: hehe..simple, .no special about the room, big enough for mini me...

Food/breakfast: okay..not that good but that bad...

Staff: helpful and always there if you need something...

stayed here last May2013, malou and abet was very good for coordination, staff is very accommodating also, they will help you to all your need, they need to transfer me to another room bcoz the AC is not working, quick move so no issue about that.

Actually theres 2 lally and abet, the beach hotel -located in the stretch of beachfront inn/resto/bars and the lally and abet cottages the one that more recommended in terms of accommodation..

their FO/and resto closed around 10PM, the SG will be the one to standby if there's anything you will need,.

When you are in El nido town, beach is not really good for swimming (so if you want to stay in beachfront resort bcoz you want to have a quick access for swimming then think again) but being in the beachfront will give you the awesome bay view of El Nido, you really need to join the daily bacuit bay/island hopping tour to see the real beauty of El Nido, you cant really compare el nido to halong bay....
El Nido is very small town, and note that electricity is not 24/7 so reconfirm with your resort, (what i know electricity is available from 2pm to 6Am only).

Back to Lally and abet, they arranged our island hopping tour, but unfortunately our Boat got problem,.... in the middle of the sea man!, .but [--] really happens so we just cook our food in the boat and make ourselves busy and jump to the sea, ,drink, eat, laugh, swim while waiting for any help...when we got back to the resort, we heard i think more than 100 sorry.hehe..but as a traveler we need to remember that sometimes [--] can occur, just make all things possible to bring out that happy mood...

The following day we went to island tour again, we let them arrange again the tour, actually we only requested to stay in 1 island the whole day (one that we can own the whole shore..heheh) , we bought food in local market and prepare it at the island..lally and abet resort provide us all the things we need, from plates, drinking water....ALL...
that was the last day of our stay in El Nido, and that was amazing!..so if you are going to stay in Lally and abet, try that tour, just ask them for boat rental and get some advise from them...you can also order pancit with them (we ordered good for 10pax but what we got is good for 15-20 pax)....

They are always happy to help you in kicking out El Nido..

over all rating based on our experience and comparison with other alike.. ..above average and close to very good....

I went to El Nido during the Holy Week of 2013 with my boyfriend and two friends. I booked through Abet, one of the owners, a room that was good for 3 people (max). I requested if we can fit 4 people in that room (since all rooms for 4pax were already booked and staying in 2 rooms would hurt our pockets). Fortunately, Abet let us fit another person in that room for a small amount (and will just use an extra mattress).

We arrived at 5:00 AM since we took the night bus from Puerto Princesa to El Nido. The guard was kind enough to let us in and rest and charge our gadgets in the hotel's lounge area. Malou, the hotel's very accommodating staff/receptionist, allowed us to check-in early, at 6:00 AM (even if original check-in time is at 12noon I think), so that we could rest before our 1st tour.

The room that was given to us could fit 4 people comfortably as there were 3 beds (2 single and 1 double bed) -- it was kind of them to do that so we no longer needed an extra mat. The room was spacious for 4 of us but somehow dusty. But we understood because the design of the room was a bahay-kubo type, which made it even more cozy. Lack of TV made it more perfect since we didn't one anyway.

Arranging tours was a breeze for us. The hotel also offers tours and we'll just tell Malou if we wanted to join. The boatmen would pick us up in front of our hotel.

Our accommodation was inclusive of a free breakfast and their restaurant was on the 2nd floor of their common area. What made it different was that guests weren't allowed to wear slippers in the restaurant -- for an added beach-y feel. Since our breakfast was free, we didn't pay much attention to the price range of their menu -- but their serving sizes were adequate and filling.

Location-wise, Lally and Abet's place was a bit far from the beachfront restaurants. But we didn't mind since we enjoyed strolling at the beach.

Overall, I would say that yuppies/teenagers, who'd like to penny-pinch, can still find less expensive places to stay in El Nido. However, those who are going there with family/kids/oldies may opt to go with Lally and Abet as this will certainly give them the relaxation, peace, and good service that they need.

Only things I didn't like about this place is the big spider in our room (which may come from the bahay-kubo materials used) and the need to settle downpayment of the room as I find it a hassle going to banks.

I've been to a lot of places in the Philippines but Malou, their staff, is certainly one of the most accommodating and helpful persons I met. Will definitely go back because of her good service.

When we arrived at Lally & Abet Resort, the first thing we noticed in our rooms was the bad smell, humidity, dirty sheets, dirty bathroom and I found a lot of small insects when I opened the bathroom furniture. The day after, they forgot to clean our rooms and so remained without toilet paper!

Before booking the 4d/3n package, I had been informed that We could choose from the tours freely, but when we arrived there the receptionist told us we couldn't as they had already been decided.

During the meals, they gave us only water, no juice or complimentary coffee as mentioned on the package! Only during the last dinner they served us a glass of juice just because I had reminded and asked them to!

Furthermore, a member of my group got hurt in the legs on the sea rocks while island hopping, the boat did not have a first-aid kit. When we got back to the cottages, I asked the receptionist if they had a band aid, or alcohol, or something.. theytold us they had nothing!

No ocean kayaks too!! the boatmen told us they were for rent! even if they were included in the package we paid!

Poor service , bad management, not good value for money!!

I would like to go back to El Nido, but definitely not in this resort anymore!

The view was nice from the beach front room. We stayed in the beach front room second floor. It was very nice and homey. Though the room was not that clean, the tv has limited channels and the service staff are not that attentive and smiling to their guest. But over all it was a cozy place to stay in. :))
