Description: After six years in the center of El Nido, the new and larger Lonesome Carabao Lounge is open at the entrance to Pops District in Corong Corong, just off the National Highway. Cozy and cool downstairs restaurant, open-air seating on the second floor, same great drinks, tunes and menu. Delicious food ranging from Mexican (our speciality) to seafood to pasta and everything in between, with many vegetarian options too. Awesome breakfasts featuring omelettes, huevos rancheros, breakfast burritos or shakshuka. Coffee brewed strong and fresh. Try our Chicken cordon bleu sandwich, pesto chicken pasta or a spicy Filipino soup for lunch. Take advantage of our late-afternoon happy hour or the even happier hour just before we close. Come give us a try!

We went to this place about 5 or 6 times while we were in El Nido. The free WIFI kept us there awhile.
It has a great Southwestern feel. It felt like I was in Santa Fe. From 5-7 they have happy hour which is great. I definitely recommend the shrimp tacos. The shells are made fresh and are crispy. The shrimp are tasty with mango and a very generous amount of guacamole.
I would recommend at least one trip to Carabao.
The staff is very friendly. However, getting your drinks takes awhile. But the experience is still worth every moment.

This place is nice and centrally located, however on the 2 occasions we went there things could have been better. We arrived at 2145 one night, just for drinks, only to be told that they were closing at 2200 and didn't want us to stay. The second occasion we went in late afternoon around 1600, basically to shelter from the rain, only to find they had no beer, only San Mig Pilsen. The power went off shortly after we arrived and they have no Generator, no candles and basically no idea. For a busy bar and restaurant, this is pretty poor, but reflects on El Nido where there are many similar places with no generators.

We ordered burgers and they were mediocre. We were really craving a good American burger but that's not what we got--I know it's the Philippines so that's not exactly a reasonable expectation but I don't know how anyone could eat that burger. The fries were good though. It was a bit late when we went to but there were only a few other people in there so that was kind of a red flag.
