We happened upon this resort while exploring the island. We dropped by their restaurant which was set right by the beach. The sea & the horizon from restaurant was beautiful in the early sunset. Try their red snapper kilawin ! Our friend Bill thought it was the best raw fish he ever had ! Still raving about it after a week !! I had the kalamari, also a wonderful dish. The cocktails are all great !

“European fare”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 6, 2013

Ambiance: Perfect for breakfast rated one of the top My Favorite Breakfast Corners of the World by me (heehee); great view, good breakfast choices, good taste. Unlimited coffee and tea is a major plus for me!

Price: A bit overpriced for the island. For Dinner: I would prefer a more Filipino inspired fare in the menu. Big portions though, and the presentation is appetising. Everything could use a little bit more salt though.

“The place to dine if going out was not on your agenda!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 17, 2013

The staff was always helpful and friendly. I would have preferred more of a selection for breakfast and coffee served throughout the day. The other meals that were prepared or part of the menu were great and you did not leave hungry. The price was reasonable and you could have it delivered to your cottage. The view from the dining area was spectacular and photo opportunities were endless. More coffee and more selections for breakfast but everything else was great.

“Super Slow Service and Expensive Restaurant with a Selfish Owner”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 28, 2013

Deciding to take our dinner in Cadlao Restaurant hoping we can have a use of their wi-fi to look for a "better" hotel in El Nido to get away from crappy Golden Monkey. We order a medium size fish that cost us Php1,500 which is very expensive. The taste is not that special, we even wait for how many hours and the service is so so slow which is not worth your money.

Here is what the owner of the Cadlao Restaurant told us after we order food from them, "we only give our wi-fi access to our guest." Are we not guests? The owner is selfish and not considering the fact that we are his customer asking for a favor. We really felt bad after spending huge money for a simple meal of fish and plain rice that cost us more than 1k.

Cadlao restaurant and resort is not worth of your money. This hotel is very expensive considering it is far from the town, roads going here is so muddy, at the back of this resort is poor rural residential and the worst is very close to a public cemetery.
The view is nice since it is facing an island but like Golden Monkey, the beach is surrounded by reefs, you cannot swim.

This resort is very close to the public cemetery and rural residential place, the roads are muddy. And when you eat at the restaurant, 2 dogs of the owner are scratching their body near the table of the customers. Worst was a field mice run over the veranda.

“A hidden GEM. Well worth discovering.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 11, 2013

Sadly we were on out last full day in El Nido when we discovered this fabulous resort and restaurant...tucked away at the north end of the beach around the headland.
We were walking around early afternoon and found it almost by accident and went in for a coffee and beer while we checked out the menu.
There are a row of nicely built, modern, contemporary cottages all angled so they face out beyond the poolside restaurant to the sea. FABULOUS first impression!
After checking the menu we decided to return for dinner as it was our last night and also our daughter's birthday.
The resort kindly provided us with a trike back into town, and also arranged to collect us again later to bring us to dinner free of charge.....what a very nice gesture!
At dinner later that evening the meals where simple but quite good quality. And to eat sitting adjacent to the pool and the sea shore while watching the setting sun was magical!
The staff even presented our daughter with a mini birthday cake.
Only negative thing I can think to say is that if (like us) you actually drove in your own car to Cadlao, I'm not sure where you could safely leave your car.
We'll DEFINITELY head back here when we return to El Nido.
