We came to Cadlao Resort after staying at El Nido Resort at Miniloc Island and felt the downgrade, however for El Nido town this place is definitely the BEST after looking around for one night in between our stay (husband messed up booking) we soon realized that although this was further out of town it was the best around, very clean and has a nice setting, nice pool and the food isnt too bad and great sun set views, it is on the beach but the beach is not very nice so wouldnt recommend for swimming in it. The only downside is the service from the manager he is not very friendly at all and doesnt speak to the guests which i found odd keeps his head down at laptop and not very friendly, however the resort and staff are very nice, the food was good, although not everything is always available, and also for the philippines not very flexible, if you want to change things about for example kids and prefer yogurt in musli instead of milk they will charge extra i think they can be a bit more accommodating. These are apparently the rules as i was told, I actually think the resort ran better and more friendly when the Owner was not about had a much better atmosphere, service was a bit slow, some staff where exceptionally excellent, helpful friendly which makes the experience a lot nicer. However breakfast was included and has 4 sets to choose from. We had lunch on one of the days and it was quite nice.
They set up an extra mattress for our children ages 2 and 4 which was charged, which we found odd after many travels not one resort/hotel has ever charged for this before, the rooms have A/C but it is turned off between 6 am -4 am (approx) but the fan will work, bathroom was a good size and very clean and the room was also very clean size was ok, bed was comfortable and all rooms have a deck area with seating which was also very nice. We stayed in two different rooms both the same only difference was the curtains the curtains in one of the rooms let too much light in as they had a pattern on them with little holes the other was a better black out which meant the kids slept later.
NOTE: the resort is quite a walk away from the road side, so please call them to ask them to collect you from EL Nido Corner as the motor trikes cannot enter this area and will mean you carry your cases a long distance. They offer a free ride to and from El Nido Corner then you can either walk into town or take another trike for about 10P per person (children no cost on trikes)
The resort offers Island Hoping but found it much cheaper at the Art Boutique Cafe, where we signed up to a few tours including fishing and Kayak Tour around. We had already done the island hoping from El NIdo Miniloc which was great, highly recommend A and C Islands, resort also offers massage which is obviously more expensive than town but we didnt mind as have children so worked better for us, highly recommend Emilyn, and they also offer laundry service.
El Nido town is very rustic which was great to see the locals where very nice just make sure you have change at all times as the trike taxis claim never to have change on them
