Good, quite and inexpensive choice in El Nido downtown, only a 5 min. walk to the Restaurant SeaSlugs on the beach and 10 min to the Artcafe. Small but very clean rooms (with AC on request for a fee) and really nice and helpfull owners. Nothing fancy but enough when you are on a tour ore diving most of the day. No breakfast, but you can get some 2 min. away. This time they arranged for us a private boat for the day, much better than the organized tours A to D you can buy on the street and when you are 4 person you pay almost the same. Great was also the motorbike trip to the beach in the north Eddy recommended.

Room Tip: This time we had a room on the ground floor. Good choice because it was cooler there, the fan was all we need

If you are travelling to El Nido then this is the place to stay. It is very close to everything including a delicious Pizza restaurant called Trattoria. We had a very pleasant stay. The lady in charge is very friendly and helpful. She speaks very good English and is keen on making your stay comfortable. She can organize local trips to secluded  beaches and she also helped us book a hotel in Pureto Princessa which was a great recommendation. The room was very clean, comfortable and the perfect size with a good air con unit and a good hot shower. I would highly recommend staying here as you can tell they love what they do and make you feel very welcome.

We stayed here for 4 nights in April 13 and we had a lovely stay. Ther owner and her brother Ray were really really helpful and very friendly.
The room is basic but a good size with A/C double or single beds, fan but only cold water. The weather was so hot in April meant that cold showers were fine for us. A couple of down sides were that the bathroom was very small (sitting on the loo was quite tight) and they do not provide breakfast. There are lots of restaurants and a great bakery in El Nido so it was actually very easy to get breakfast yourself elsewhere and Balskamp is very close to everything in town but away from the noisy road. So their location is perfect.
We paid PhP1400.00 per night and this was the best price we could find in April (high season). I would reccommend staying at Balskamp Guesthouse if you're a backpacker and are not worried about staying in a guesthouse that isn't directly on the beach and doesn't have a pool.
Thank you for a lovely stay.

Room Tip: Try to take a room as far from the road and pet birds as possible. The birds talk a lot quite early in the morning.

I would recommend this place without a doubt. We couldn't find any flaw. The room was spotless. The inn has a very nice patio where you can relax. Well located, near everything but in a quiet side street, we didn't have any problem to sleep. There is a bathroom with shower in the patio, and we were allowed to use it after the check out, very convenient if you have to catch the night bus to Puerto Princesa. Owners and staff were attentive and informative. Overall, we were really satisfied with this accommodation.
