My son and I were very please with our stay , we were made most welcome , arranged our boat trips , also another quite beach, the rooms were very clean ,quite at night, the power goes off at 6.00am back on at 2pm ,does not interfere with your holiday as you spend your time out on trips.
Thank to all the staff and Managment.

If you are travelling to El Nido then this is the place to stay. It is very close to everything including a delicious Pizza restaurant called Trattoria. We had a very pleasant stay. The lady in charge is very friendly and helpful. She speaks very good English and is keen on making your stay comfortable. She can organize local trips to secluded  beaches and she also helped us book a hotel in Pureto Princessa which was a great recommendation. The room was very clean, comfortable and the perfect size with a good air con unit and a good hot shower. I would highly recommend staying here as you can tell they love what they do and make you feel very welcome.

We stayed here for 4 nights in April 13 and we had a lovely stay. Ther owner and her brother Ray were really really helpful and very friendly.
The room is basic but a good size with A/C double or single beds, fan but only cold water. The weather was so hot in April meant that cold showers were fine for us. A couple of down sides were that the bathroom was very small (sitting on the loo was quite tight) and they do not provide breakfast. There are lots of restaurants and a great bakery in El Nido so it was actually very easy to get breakfast yourself elsewhere and Balskamp is very close to everything in town but away from the noisy road. So their location is perfect.
We paid PhP1400.00 per night and this was the best price we could find in April (high season). I would reccommend staying at Balskamp Guesthouse if you're a backpacker and are not worried about staying in a guesthouse that isn't directly on the beach and doesn't have a pool.
Thank you for a lovely stay.

Room Tip: Try to take a room as far from the road and pet birds as possible. The birds talk a lot quite early...

I would recommend this place without a doubt. We couldn't find any flaw. The room was spotless. The inn has a very nice patio where you can relax. Well located, near everything but in a quiet side street, we didn't have any problem to sleep. There is a bathroom with shower in the patio, and we were allowed to use it after the check out, very convenient if you have to catch the night bus to Puerto Princesa. Owners and staff were attentive and informative. Overall, we were really satisfied with this accommodation.

Originally we intended to stay only 1 night, but we ended up staying here for 7 nights:) The place is nice, clean, location great - close to everything and it is quiet and safe. There are 2 types of rooms - we have stayed in the smaller one for 1 night and for the next 6 nights we had a bigger family room, both of them are good value for money. Rooms are cleaned daily, bed linens and towels were changed every second day. Free wifi is included in the room price.
The owners are friendly and were very helpful, they booked a boat trip and made a reservation for the RORO bus for us and gave a lot of helpful advises about the nearby beaches and tuk-tuk prices. I would definitely recommend this place and would not hesitate to come back if again in El Nido.

I will make it short and simple: feels like home. The place is clean quiet and safe. The hosts are lovely and friendly. The location is right in the center, close to everything but located in a good quiet street.
If you need any advice Virgie and Eddy are the address, don't hesitate to ask, they sure have good useful tips.
I will definitely go back and recommend others to stay here!
Virgie and Eddy - Thank you so much (:

This place is run by a very friendly couple who were very, very welcomming. I've been backpacking a lot throughout SE Asia, and this is one of my favourite gueshouses. They help you with basically everything!

Very clean rooms, very good value for money and perfectly located in a quiet street just of the main road within El Nido. We were three people sharing a room meant for two people, but we had no problems fitting in.

Before moving to Bulskamp, we stayed at a few other places which were a bit more expensive, but none of them could measure up to Bulskamp. We actually ended up staying a night or two more than planned, even though we were on a tight schedule!

The only negative is that the power is turned off, but this is the same for all of El Nido except the fancier hotels which have their own private generators, so it doesn't really affect the overall score that I chose to give this.

If (I'd rather say when) I get back to El Nido, this place will be my first stop.

Make sure you greet the talking parrots to your right when you enter the premises!
