“Friendliest-Hands-on Owners! Hands down the loveliest, tranquil, best value resort in El Nido!”

Alain and Bob are just fantastic guys -- the resort has its own green view inside, spacious, clean and cozy rooms.. Great view -- so quiet and undisturbed -- the benches are passionately-positioned facing the bay -- so you can enjoy your drink, or the pleasure of finishing your book.. at least that's what i did..

They're very sensitive to guest's comments and requests -- they are just excellent!

Alain would give the best recommendation from food, restos, boat operators etc..

If you want a serene place to stay in, you won't get it in the over-crowded town -- head out to Corong-corong instead :-) you won't regret it.. Coral Bay Resort is awesome!

Room Tip: pick the villas facing the bay -- they're awesome! Get Zaldy Gabuco, highly-recommended by Al...

We arrived at El Nido and didnt have anywhere booked so we went on the hunt for somewhere to stay starting off at the main hotels on the beach front in the centre of El Nido as this is where we were dropped off. All of these were fully booked so we ended up heading towards Corong-Corong which is a 5minute tricycle ride away where we stumbled upon Coral Bay resort. I have to say this was a blessing in disguise as the accommodation here was far better than anything else we had seen in el nido, and for the same price if not cheaper. As well as this, the beach and the scenery here is out of this world! The sunset is post card to say the least!

Our room was exceptional, very clean, and came with a four poster bed, AC and a powerful hot/cold shower, as well as a balcony and a great view of the beach. If you would like your room cleaning you simply need to ask and it will be done for you. Bob and Alain really did look after us throughout our 5day stay and the rest of the staff at Coray Bay were fantastic and couldnt do enough for us. We also arranged our island hopping trip through Zaldy and this really was amazing and one of the highlights of our trip. We combined packages A and C and hired kayaks to take on the trip. This is thoroughly recommended if you want to explore the lagoons etc to their full potential. We had an incredible lunch on one of the beaches - we had the fish which was delicious! The island hopping tour is not to be missed!

The great thing about staying here is its so peaceful, incredible beach and breathtaking views but if you want to be in the middle of all the activity then you can be there in 5minutes. All in all this really is an amazing place to stay, run by a great bunch of people. We will definitely be returning to El Nido and staying at Coral Bay and we thoroughly recommend this to anyone visiting El Nido.

We stayed in 3 places in El Nido and Coral Bay was by far the best. The rooms are very good, the breakfast is good and it's in a serene setting.
You hear that all in the reviews below but one thing you don't get an idea of is how great Alain and Bob really are.
My wife got food poisoning one afternoon and it got progressively worse through the evening.
Bob allowed me use of the kitchen to make tea to keep my wife hydrated and get this ---
Alain said if if got worse to get him out of bed any time thru the night and he would get the doctor - now that's amazing.
Great resort and great owners!

We really enjoyed our 1 week stay in this resort. Although the trip from Puerto Princesa is awfully tiring, you will soon forget all about it once your here. We were greeted and was offered a complimentary beer by Bob after checking in. The cottage that we booked is facing the beach and the sunset view is awesome every afternoon. You will never have this option if you will book near the town where in the sun will be covered by the mountains. The room was spacious enough for the two of us. They hot and cold shower is decent and has a steady flow in it.

Their breakfast is good. The best thing about it is that they will ask you how you want the eggs to be cooked, plus you can ask them to bring that personally to your room which is excellent.

If you want to see the place or do an island hopping, you can ask for the assistance of Zaldy. He is the local boatman that can help you with all of it. We took the private Tours A and C which cost about 2800-3200PHP. There will be a free lunch that goes along with it and will be cooked on the island. Before the trip, Zaldy will ask you what you would like to have, either chicken, fish or meat. He is pretty much amazing! He really did a good job! If you want to spend more quality time with your loved one while your here, go with the private tour but if tight with budget, you can take the group tour that will cost you 700-900PHP depending on the tour. If you are more into snorkeling, go with Tour C.

What is great about this resort is that if you need quiet time, you can have it since this is at least 5-8mins away from the town and if you need to party or go out, just ride the tricycle and pay 15PHP (daytime) or 50PHP(nighttime). Everything is at your dispense.

All in all, this place is superb! I would definitely recommend this to my friends.

We spent nearly three weeks in Coral Bay. Wasn't plannend, but it was so nice here, the people were so friendly, that we stayed nearly the whole holiday there. Thanx to the owners Bob, Alain and Mercedes!!! And of course Saldy, our captain, who drove us with his boat to all the great islands up there. He really is the best tourguide you will find in El Nido. The rooms are all very nice, especially the VIP room and the bungalows, we know what we're talking about because we two nomads have slept in almost every room. We especially miss the nice evenings with "What d'you want for breakfast?"-Bob, Alain, Mercedes and Saldy drinking some rhum and beer. And maybe you're lucky and Saldy will bring his guitar along and play Neil Young. Great! Nicest place we've ever been, nicest people we've ever met. Greez, Theresa & Norbert

We made the awful 5 road trip via a shuttle van from Puerto Princesa to El Nido but we forgot all about it once we stepped foot at the Coral Bay Resort. We were greeted by the very charming Bob. We had reserved one of the two beach cottages months prior to our arrival. I was glad I planned ahead, the resort was completely booked. My husband and I were nothing but smiles when he walked us to our room, the view captivated us.

The cottage has direct access to the beach with it's own hammocks and private porch. The room was very basic but very clean and comfortable. There is no TV but who needs one when you have such a gorgeous view from the porch! The resort also faces west and from our beachside cottage, we had front row seats to watch the sunset every night! It was spectacular.

For food, they do not have a restaurant but offer breakfast. You can choose from Filipino or regular breakfast, this was included in the price. It was a typical breakfast you would make yourself at home so I was satisfied. Although they don't announce this, there is wifi in their dining area. Also, you can purchase beer from Bob. It came in really handy for those sunsets!

We had a good tip from Bob to speak to a local boatman at the beach a few steps away to organize an island hoping tour. This was the best tip of all! Instead of going to town (5 min tricycle ride) and waiting with the crowd, we had the boat pick us up and drop us off at our cottage doorstep. It was amazing. No hassle, no wait, like the ones we went through in Puerto Princesa for the island tours. We did two tours this way and they were memorable. The boatmen were great. They prepared freshly grilled fish for lunch.

Back to reviewing the resort...It is located on the other side of the El Nido Bay where the town is located, and the water is much cleaner and the beach so much more relaxing. We saw at most 10 people at one time at the beach. Note that the shores where the resort lies is protected by Unesco (unlike El Nido Bay).

The simplicity of the resort and the location made for a great ending of our trip to the Philippines. My husband and I have stayed in a diverse range of hotels (from hostels to 5 star hotels) and to be honest, although Coral Bay is not 5 star, this place won our hearts and as such, we will be back!

Room Tip: Book one of the two beach cottages, right on the beach, It's worth the premium.

We stayed a week in Coral Bay in January in a standard room for about $82/night. The owners are nice people, the room a good size and nice with well made wooden floors. You could see that the owners had taken some extra effort to make the construction of the rooms and furniture etc quality.
However, for $82/night we found it expensive and not great value. There is no bar, restaurant or pool, so calling it a resort is stretching the truth a little - it is more of a nice oceanside motel.
The breakfasts are freshly prepared bacon & eggs. Bob the owner asks you the night before what time you woud like breakfast for the following morning. Unfortunately they always come 40-50 minutes after the time you have booked it for, which means that despite getting up earlier so that you can have a leisurely breakfast before heading off island hopping for the day at 9am, you end up scoffing it down in 5 minutes flat so that you can make the 9am boat without holding all the other boat customers up. This could easily be remedied by buying an extra $40 gas stovetop and hiring one extra helper for the morning breakfasts.
Overall, a nice place and well laid out, on the beach, although sea too shallow for swimming or paddling, and quiter than El Nido own itself. Its a 5 minute tricycle ride to El Nido town, 30 pesos. We found it expensive for what it was but having said that, we found most accomodation in Philippines poor value compared to other SE asian countries.
