Greenviews Resort Corong-Corong

On an overnight trip to El Nido, my wife and I had the chance to stay in Greenviews Inn. We were booked here upon recommendation of our host in El Nido.

We were right to trust her.

Greenviews Inn is one of a few places in or near the town of El Nido that provides an authentic sleepy, small beach town experience. It is located not in the middle of the busy town, but is located in the Corong-Corong area, less than ten minutes away by van. It is beachfront on one side and main road on the other.

What I liked about Greenviews is it is comparably a more comfortable overall resort experience over the other resorts in the area. The layout is very garden resort type, where your rooms are inside free-standing cottages placed side by side in a garden setting. There are pathways that connect all cottages to the main house, where breakfast and all-day dining is served. Small garden nooks with nice benches cued photo souvenirs to be taken. My wife and I were looking for a quiet trip, and that’s the experience we had at Greenviews.

The rooms are very simple. It is characteristic of El Nido as El Nido itself is only in its awakening phase, thus the general inventory of hotel rooms are mostly small family-run cottages and small hotels. The bed was simple, the room was of natural wood and nipa materials. There were tables for personal effects, a wooden cabinet for clothes and bags. The bathroom was simple and small, but complete. Air-conditioning is also a feature of the room. Lastly, a balcony in front provided a nice coffee moment in the morning. Despite the simple set-up, it was still a comfortable experience as we weren't really expecting a deluxe resort experience.

The staff were a mix of clueless and seasoned resort help. Some couldn’t or wouldn’t help us but there were those who were genuinely helpful with small requests. Obviously there are no formal training centers for resort staff there.

The breakfast was impressive. We had dried fish (called “lamayo” in Filipino), garlic fried rice and scrambled egg. It provided a great start for a day filled with island-hopping. There was a unique self-serve coffee station where guests were trusted to leave their payments on the counter.

We were able to obtain the service of an island hopping tour boat right in front of the resort. It was very convenient for us, and the price was just the same as those in town.

Overall, Greenviews is ideal for families or couples who want El Nido beachfront without the crowded feel of the town. I’ll come back here anytime.

This was a quiet place to relax and enjoy the beauty of creation at its best, Dave and his staff create a great sense of community. They offer friendly service and great value. Our stay here at Greenviews 9-11 November, 2013 with our daughter and son and his wife was a wonderful experience, to be able to kick back as a family and enjoy the island tours and delicious meals in the restaurant. Sunset was spectacular, the rooms comfortable and clean and the garden superb. We were glad to stay here, on the outer edge of El Nido ... and we would do it again.

I must say, it was really difficult to find a good resort/hotel in el nido. Many were too pricey for the room standard offered or the location. But then, I read about greenviews here in tripadvisor and when I inquired for the price. It was just right for the pocket.

We stayed here last October 28-31, 2013 with my husband and his sister during low season. We booked two beach front cottages (P1,900 each) with aircon, cottage 1 and 6, the former having the better view. In our room, cottage 6, the bed was composed of 2 twin beds placed together, so it can be a bit uncomfortable for couples. The room was neat, they make up your room everyday even if you don't ask. The windows were made of sliding wood panels and some were difficult to close. But nothing to worry.

The grounds were well-maintained. There were lots of plants and trees which makes it relaxing adding to the hammocks and sun lounges were you can relax in.

The location was great! Quiet, serene, away from the noise of el nido town and with a stunning sunset view! And it's just a few minutes away to the town proper by trike (P15/head) if you want to venture out bars and restaurants. There are a lot to choose from, along the white beach in el nido. I recommend having candlelight dinner there. :) Anyway, there's also a restaurant in greenviews if you don't feel like going out and they serve really good food. The restaurant is open until 9:30PM, i think.

The service was also good, with fast check-in/check-out. They even let us rest in our rooms first before checking in.

Another good thing about this resort is that they have their own boats. So you can book the tours directly with them. You can opt to have a private tour or a group tour. We took tour C (P900/head) on our second day and tour A (P700/head) on our third day. For private tours, they cost P3,600 and P2,800, respectively. These two are the highly recommended tours. For me, tour A is a must-see! The views are just majestic! And the lagoons, so beautiful.. Tour C was a bit of a challenge, swimming to secret beach and hidden beach with big waves and sharp corals underneath. I strongly advise to wear proper aqua shoes. We were just wearing slippers, so, you can imagine how difficult it was.

Overall, I highly recommend greenviews for the price, location and overall el nido experience.

Room Tip: beachfront cottages are room 1 and 6 room 1 has better view

A great stay at Greenviews. The Villa's are clean and comfortable and the surrounding gardens are lush and beautiful - love the bear cat! The best part though is the fantastic restaurant - really delicious food, especially the filipino offerings. Will come back again and recomend to friends.

Room Tip: Ask for a room close to the beach!

I showed up at greenview without a booking in a busy time, and they went out of their way to accommodate me, despite it being difficult for them. The cottages were great value for money, and despite reports to the contary, the area is quiet, the beach is not very busy and the sunsets are spectacular. Watching the sun go down with a drink in the bar is awesome. Cannot recommend the staff and this hotel enough. Much nicer than being in the mayhem of El Nido, and is only a short trike away (10-15pesos).

My husband, brother, and sister in-law stayed 1 week at the Greenviews resort in Corong-Corong.
It was absolutely the best stay I have ever had in the Philippines.
The staff were BEYOND accommodating.
Miss Rose (the manager), her husband Anthony, Shone (Shawn), Brian, Reggie, Ramon, Mia, Reicen, and all the beautiful people who work there went above and beyond to make our stay the most memorable. I truly cannot say enough kind words about them and all they contributed to such a special holiday.
The establishment is clean, the grounds are amazingly kept and the sunset view is epic.

We arrived in Greenviews, Aug 12, 2013 at half past 7 in the evening, the staff were so accommodating and always smiling, our rooms were ready , we put our bags in our respective rooms and headed to their restaurant upstairs, there were lots of visitors that night considering that there was typhoon and if I remember it right, I think we were just the only group who were all Filipinos and the rest were foreigners from different parts of Europe. We had a perfect supper and we had few drinks until 12 midnight, It was a night to remember, until the next day, tragedy happened, two of our friends drowned and only 1 was saved, we lost our friend in Nacpan beach. The navy found his body after two days of searching for him. From day one until we went home, staff of Greenviews never left us, They were always there to provide us all the things we that we needed, from food, transportation and didn't charge us for that, Bless them for everything they've done to us especially to the owner of Greenviews who on our way back said that they will return half of what we paid for our accomodation, they even let the brother in law of my friend stayed in their resort for free before his body was transferred to puerto princesa and to manila afterwards. Apology if it took me more than 2 months to write a review, but never we will forget the goodness that you've to us and to our friend. Thank you so much from the bottom of our hearts, Thank to Bryan, Bong , manong driver, and Ate, who every day and night were always with us, giving us strength and hope. To all the the Navy, divers, police, the local government of El nido ,to everyone who prayed and who helped us find our friend.,Maraming maraming salamat po sa inyo. I hope and pray that I could go back to El Nido one day, and I will definitely stay in Greenviews and make a different memories. To the owner of Greeniews, Thank you again and God bless you all... Kudos to everyone in Greenviews.
