My husband and I with our two little kids just came from El Nido a few hours ago (We've been staying in Puerto Princesa for a month now) and despite the exhaustion from the almost 7 hour trip via Roro Bus which is a 485 pesos per seat fare from Puerto to El Nido (You can find this bus at San Jose New Market bus terminal; Trips are 6AM, 10AM and 2PM) I am here in the internet, telling you guys, to bring enough cash or extremely reliable credit cards because El Nido has no ATM to withdraw money from and ATMs are available only at Puerto Princesa Town Proper. Establishments in El Nido do not accept debit cards. Not even the airports in El Nido and Puerto have these machines. There is one in the Puerto bus terminal, so if you want to pamper yourself in El Nido, be sure to be fueled.

By the way, El Nido Beach Hotel is the best choice in the beachfront, will tell you more about El Nido as soon as a get enough rest. El Nido was worth all the effort. Extremely wonderful place...

Room Tip: On the second floor, nice view from the veranda

We had two upper floor(2), Deluxe Sea View rooms at the El Nido Beach Hotel Jan 31 thru Feb 3, and could not have been more pleased. The rooms were nothing special, but the view of the beach and bay and nearby Cadlao Island were special. We also enjoyed watching daily townspeople activity along the beach: Kids going to school, families going shopping or to work. Staff were extremely friendly, as were the townspeople. Breakfast was simple but adequate. The entire El Nico beach is not good for swimming as the water is shallow. The bay water in front of the El Nico Beach Hotel, and possibly other hotels, becomes very muddy (dirty) during rains as a major storm drain outlets town street water directly in front of the hotel. Not a big deal as swimming is not an issue, and the water cleans fairly fast. Swim on pristine beaches on nearby Cadlao island accessible via rented Kayaks, or on other beaches via the many island hopping daily tours.

Room Tip: Sea view rooms on the upper, 2nd floor, are the only way to go. The first floor rooms involve hotel...

My wife and I stayed in El Nido town for 2 nights before going onto Miniloc Resorts off of El NIdo.

El Nido Beach hotel was a very nice place and I'd stay there again if we ever go back.

Pros:
- The view is absolutely gorgeous from the room.
- I don't notice the smells of things much, but I distinctly remember the room smelling good when we arrived.
- It's a very small town, so I'm sure the location of any hotel is fine.
- The breakfast buffet was okay. Not the best in the world, but it was okay, could be better.
- They gave us beach towels whenever we went out and would change them out each day
- Book your tours through them. They use Ricsons down the road and those guides were very nice.

Cons:
- As for all of the city, you don't get electricity from 6am to 2pm. But this is everywhere in El Nido.

Tips:
- Go get drinks/dinner at RIcsons. They have a nice atmosphere and had some local music. The staff was very nice as well. Martin and Carlo were very cool.

El Nido is a small village with a very small beach and very few hotels. However it has an awesome sea view with adequate and affordable accessibility to island hopping, snorkeling and diving trips.

The hotel is situated right in the middle of the beach with a splendid view of the bay and ocean. The best part of the hotel is its location and the majestic view from its windows and balcony. The breakfast, complementary with the room, is excellent, with choices from European, American and local dishes. We loved their pancakes, fruits, breads and sausages.

Best thing to do here is the island hopping tours and it is best to book from the hotel itself. We also tried the massage parlor suggested by the hotel staff(right opposite the hotel) and found it really good. We also found the staff to be very efficient and attentive.

The room is large and neat with locker, a/c, tv, fridge etc. Bed is comfortable and nicely done up. Toilet is large and clean with 24 hrs hot water. The balcony is a treat for relaxing and ocean watching. Ask for cloth rack to dry beach wear.

However please note that there is no electricity in El Nido from 6 am to 2 pm. Hence plan your island hopping / activities on all days of your stay, otherwise you may end up in a hot and sultry room during the day.

We stayed on the first floor room, it has a better view, and paid P3600 per night for two. The rate may seem little steep, comparing to other hotels nearby, however its worth the money spent. There are other hotels here with more impressive websites such as the Entalula, which I found to be much inferior to El Nido Beach hotel, in terms of facilities and location.

Also in case you want to splurge then of course book into the famous El Nido Beach Resort. Rates from P 10,000 onward. The choice is yours.

Room Tip: First floor rooms on the new wing.

The hotel was quite nice but way way overpriced for what you get. you really are only paying for the view.
The breakfast was nothing special, i had better breakfasts in manila for hotels that cost a third of the price. powdered coffee in a tub with "coffee" scribbled on it in biro, this is fine in cheap hotels (which i usually stay in) but not in ones that charge what they do.
The room wasn't cleaned while we were there (including the toilet bin). we moved out after 2 nights and found a really lovely place for a quarter of the price right on the beach, ok breakfast was not included but it is so cheap in el nido you can eat at a different place every morning :-)

Cons:
- very expensive
- hard bed
- cold breakfast
- the beach infront is not the type you'd lay on, a bit dirty.

Pros:
- nice views
- clean hotel
- nice staff

For westerners, this is a 2 star equivalent.
For Filipinos, a bit expensive for what you can get- 3500Php per night deluxe room, view of the sea and Cadlao Island.

El Nido, one of the most beautiful seascapes in the world. The place will not disappoint. A very fragile paradise. Please keep this place safe and clean. When you go island hopping, bring a plastic bag for your trash and bring it back to town then dispose in a proper trash can. I love Palawan!

My wife and I stayed at the El Nido Beach Hotel for 3 nights. We had a great time! Although relatively expensive (compared to the other accommodation in El Nido town), the hotel was very clean and our first floor room had a fantastic view. The room was small but very tastefully decorated, with a comfortable bed and a nice hot shower.

The staff were very helpful and arranged island hopping tours for us. The manager also took the time to tell us about the various sights, things to do, etc.

The location is also perfect, at the quiet end of the beach, but only a short walk to the bars and restaurants.

Only one negative comment and that was the breakfast. It was fine, but not quite what you would expect from a hotel of that cost.

Overall, I would highly recommend the El Nido Beach Hotel.

Room Tip: It's worth paying the extra for a room on the first floor.
