I have chosen this place for several reasons. I wanted to stay right on the beach and I wanted the place to look and feel authentic. I found Entalula to be perfect in this respect. It is right in the middle of the beach but surrounded by other b&b and the bars are some 50 meters away but you don't get to hear the noise which is nice. In fact this place is pretty quiet and the waves is the only major noise which i actually ejoyed, but if that s something you are afraid of just take ear plugs with you. The hosts are wonderful. Emilia is very efficient and does everything to help make your stay comfortable. Actually they started serving breakfasts not long ago and these breakfasts are very nice. I stayed in the little hut and enjoyed it. I heard that rooms can be a little loud because they are not very sound proof so I would go for the hut. Just something you should consider is that the hut is nice but pretty tiny. We had just enou space for two and would not complain but if you are coming with a little kid there would be too little space already.

Room Tip: We stayed in the house B but I think they are all the same except that house d is directly facing the sea.

We stayed here for one week in December 2011, and had a fabulous stay. It was clean, beautiful, great location, and an amazing staff. We were in El Nido for Christmas and the family that owns the property actually cooked all the guests a beautiful Christmas dinner. It was absolutely incredible and a really beautiful place. We paid about $30/night. I definitely recommend staying here!

A beautiful and special boutique hotel. The Entalula has great Japanese achitecture with the best view in El Nido from your room. It is on the beach and near the best dinning places in town. Exceptional value at the off season rate of p1000 for AC hot water room & coffee/milo. If you are quiet, this is the place to stay in El Nido.....

Only down side is that simple quiet talking at night can be heard throughout the hotel and that power (light & hot water) is shut off from 6am till 3pm (no morning hot water showers). The hotel had a generator, however, they did not use it when I stayed there. No restaurant at hotel.

The best thing to do in El Nido is to island hop, usually 3 island at a time., 9am-4pm including a wonderful lunch. Rain or shine, these are must see trips. The Entalula had special discounted tours at P500 (A&D) P600 (B) P800(C) including there special picnic basket meal package of fresh crab, chicken, vegi, fruit, rice and water. Snorkel P100/day.

Note: Snorkeling is not affect by rain except that is a little colder in the boat when you get out of the water so bring a light jacket. Do not waste you time in town during bad weather, there is nothing to do and you do not need to know how to swim to snorkel, just use a life jacket and float.

Eat at the "Sands" and Squido near the Hotel, you can't go wrong:):) Both places are a good value and have nice suroundings.

It was a P500/person 5hr van trip from Porte. They charge a high p100/person government fee at El Nido to island hop.

Room Tip: Cottage next to the beach are the most romantic. There patios are great place to relax.

The family that run the Entalula are so helpful and welcoming, they really made our stay in El Nido a good one, they went out of there way to help us. Breakfast is served on your balcony at the time you request, book the boat trip with them and you can walk out of the Entalula and straight onto the boat after you have eaten breakfast and they will drop you outside your front door at the end of the boat trip. We had so much food on the boat trip that we had to force ourselves to eat it so we didn't waste it. The bathroom is nice and gets cleaned everyday, the cabana room is a little small and it is noisy in the morning as it is all close together, but all of El Nido is cramped close together, so that's not the Entalulas fault, I would 100% stay here again.

I booked this hotel because it's one of the top rated in trip advisor. When we arrived at the place, everything that was noted in the reviews were as it was - both the good points and the not so good.

The good:
- we took a walk along the shore, it seemed like it was one of the better bed and breakfasts around at a reasonable rate
- clean rooms
- spacious bathroom
- accomodating owners
- the food the owner prepared for us for our private tour was generous
- good location - very near town, so in case you forgot to bring your suntan lotion or need to buy some OTC medicines, you can just walk to the closest drugstor. I think they close at about 6pm, however.

The not-so-good:
- the reception area did serve as the family's living room as such, it felt a bit awkward having to walk past the living area while the family was watching TV or when they were eating in the dining area.
- The cottage we stayed in was quite cramped in space. But I believe this is the same for all rooms.
- The shower pressure was so low that when the heater is turned on even at the lowest level, the water gets too hot.

Room Tip: 1) Try and book Cottage D - I think it's the one facing the ocean (if the waves don't bother you much) or any other cottage. The cottages are stand-alone units and provide more privacy. I heard that the rooms in the main house have quite thin walls. 2 other couples whom we met there booked 2 rooms side by side each others' and they were talking through the walls! 2) Bring cash!! There are no ATMs in El Nido and very few accept credit card, much less debit cards.
