We were very disappointed with the poor standard of service and facilities.
Our reception was surly and unwelcoming. There are no tea or coffee facilities in the rooms and towels were inadequate.
Breakfast in the morning were a bit of a lottery and we had repeatedly to ask for more water etc.
Finally despite advising the Hotel on arrival that we would be staying one night less we were forced to pay for the night we did not stay - this is theft.

Room Tip: Don't stay here.

As mentioned before in other reviews this is really a hotel with a pool rather than a resort. It's in an excellent location on the beachfront and the pool is good - it's the only one in el nido and therefore the prices. The rooms are large with good aircon but the peeling wallpaper is indicative of this place's lack of attention to detail. This place is expensive but we had had such bad accommodation the nights previous we justified it on that basis.
The problem was this place tries to be a high end hotel but fails. There is no information in the room so you have to keep going back and forth to the reception when I couldn't get the safe to work, to find out how to work the aircon and to get prices for the drinks from the fridge - basics really. We particularly wanted to use the pool in the morning but found that it was not open til 1pm!!
The breakfast was poor - juice from concentrate, instant coffee etc and the overall feeling from this place was that it was not good value for money and that the staff were largely indifferent to the guests. We spoke to the new manager there about this and she agreed with our comments but whether or not it matters to them is another thing...

I have not yet stayed at the hotel but booked a room for March for 4 nights. They (Michael Diaz) told us to wire money to China Bank to the hold the room. We have not been able to get a hold of anyone since and it's been over a week. I'm starting to get freaked out this is scam. For anyone who else booked ahead of time, was this the protocol? Please advise. Thank you.

El Nido Garden Beach Resort is a haven compared to the other offering of hotels in El Nido. Their cottages are very nice, with actually good and working warm water showers and comfortable beds. You have even a big tv in your room and you can borrow a dvd player from the reception and choose what you want to look at from the rather big selection.

The views are so nice, and the pool is a great addition. This is also the only hotel with a pool in El Nido. There is no room service and also no restaurant, but the El Nido Corner restaurant will serve you to the room (and they also have good food and drinks, compared to many other on the beach).

As everything in the Philippines, all things are not taken care of immediately and precisely, but the effort is there. The rooms are maintained daily, and the room prices include an ok continental breakfast. This is the best hotel you can choose in El Nido, but it will also cost you more. Here you will feel like relaxing on a vacation. We thought this accommodation was money well spent.
