“One of the must visit restaurant in El Nido”
Reviewed August 22, 2014

Prior to our trip, I already checked out some most recommended restaurants in El Nido and among those I shortlisted was Art Cafe. We easily found Art Cafe since it is also popular among the locals. Art Cafe has nice interiors and ambiance and very accommodating staff. Also love that they have a live band playing some of my favorite songs. :) And true enough, Art Cafe really serves good food, we quietly and quickly devoured everything we ordered! Our favorites include the Art Cafe Pizza, not your usual pizza as it had tuna and egg as toppings, but I really enjoyed this cause I love pizza and egg, their Seafood Pasta and their special dish during our trip, Thai Seafood Curry which was bursting with flavors. Overall, it was a very satisfying dining experience. This place deserves to be one of the attractions in El Nido for travelers and foodies like me. hehe :)

“Expensive, I wish I spent my money on a real Filipino tour”
Reviewed August 20, 2014

I booked with artcafe because they had a website and lots of good reviews and they were the only place that booked private tours. I didn't realize how many tour companies there were, and had I known I would have booked elsewhere. We ate here and the food was good, but the German owner was kind of mean to her staff.
We booked a private tour to see all the little islands in two days. The private tour was really nice and our tour guide was nice and funny. The bad thing is you see two tours in one day, so it's a little rushed. But we didn't have much time in El Nido so we did it anyway, and it was still nice. We had great bbq lunches prepared for us and it was yummy.
I also booked the inland tour, which was my big regret. We paid a lot for it and the lady at the desk told me we could see 3 three places if we paid more. I wanted to see nacpan beach instead of the hot springs. So we paid more but only saw 2 places. We argued about it, and she told me that I was wrong and that she was right. I thought the customer was always right?
Anyway, if you go to El Nido, don't worry about booking ahead of time. There are so many tour companies and I wished I had spent my money on a Filipino company.
The rest of the staff at the restaurant and the store are really nice and the super friendly guy at the store was awesome. Also, they have cute dogs at the restaurant, but they drink from the toilet so make sure you flush.

“Good and bad”
Reviewed August 18, 2014 via mobile

Went here due to reviews found here in TA. I'd say the food is worth the good reviews. Went here for a couple of times, first for dinner and another for early lunch. Had pesto for dinner, serving size was big. The next day i ordered the seafood salad, I highly reccommend this! It was very delicious and abundant with shrimp, fish and squid!

The servers was quite annoying at times though. They come to you asking if you're done, or if you want something else. I would understand that they may need to free some seats, but during the morning, the place was half empty so either they want me to leave ASAP right after eating, or they are pushing upselling their menu, which was both appalling.

Overall food - good. Service - bad.

Thank you for dining several times at Artcafe while in El Nido and for taking the time to write this review.
Rest assured that it's absolutely not in our intention that push sales, but to rather assure we are there whenever you like something. it's low season and even in peak season we would not rush anyone ever to leave the place. i am so sorry you felt like that way and wish you had expresses this to our management. We will make sure our staff will attend their respective station in the dining area to avoid this repeated passing. our apologies.

We hope to see back again one day at Artcafe. Have a great day.

“Cozy place but the band was a little too noisy”
Reviewed August 18, 2014

We came to el nido for a little peace and quiet with nature as our sorroundings.. We do this every year for our anniversary month..
We went to Art Cafe as a friend recommended it.. It was really a nice place..
The pizza was yummy and the seafood parmesan pasta too! Even the kinilaw!
We tried their own made ice cream, vanilla was too sweet, mango ok, jackfruit best!
Friendly staff too..
The band was too noisy though.. We met some new friends on our tour which we booked at Caera tours, and we asked them to join us for dinner but we were not able to talk that much as it was too noisy... I am a musician too, there is just a thin line to that would determine a noise from music.. Better if they do acoustic instead of full band..
But overall, it wasnt bad..
Bought my el nido shirt and some souvenir magnets in their store downstairs from the resto.. They dont have big sizes for my husband though.. Sad..
Will try other cuisines next time.. Hope the bands will improve by then

Greetings from Artcafe!

Thank you so much for taking the time to write us a nice review.

We appreciate very much your inputs and suggestions, especially regarding the live bands. We shall definetely turn the volume lower. Normally we turn off the speaker on the terrace and keep the one inside on for those coming for the band. We will also look at our schedules and have the pianist here more, rather then the whole band on some nights.

We are very happy that you liked our place and the food. And of course we will make sure on your next visit all the ice cream flavors will get your excellent ratings.

Our T-shirts sizes for adults start from XS up to XXXL. In the XXXL size we only have limited colors like white, grey, black, royal blue, navy blue. Other colors end at XXL, which is American size.
So, we are certain in your next visit to El Nido, we can find a tshirt that will fit your husband.
Warm greetings!

“Very overrated !”
Reviewed August 17, 2014

Last March, my partner and I were travelling the Philippines (Luzon, Mindoro and Palawan) and we had a most delightful stay at El Nido Overlooking, a small resort in Corong-Corong. Since this wonderful resort has no restaurant we had to look for restaurants in El Nido. The first evening, trusting different reviews we decided to have dinner at ArtCafe... It turned out to be one of the worst dinner experiences in our 4 week travel. Service was mediocre if not poor. Genuine friendliness was nowhere around. And the food, unfortunately, was just as poor... I had the worst paella in ages. Overboiled rice, hardly any taste, in one word : waste of money... After the meal we checked some of their excursions, discovering they were catering really large groups of people on one trip. Not our cup of tea. If you like mass tourism, average food (and music, which was loud and poor quality that night), you'll enjoy this place. Maybe we hit a bad night, with a poor band and the cook having a day off, but we decided to not return to Art Cafe anymore. The next days we had delicious meals at nearby La Salangane and La Mezzanine. Fortunately...
