We took a family trip March 2011. This is the best time to travel to Sabang because the current in the surf is mild (other times of year it is much stronger - esp December towards the center of the 300 meter beach front.) Mary's cottages are very rustic, run down and the caretaker does not seem to "care" very much for the place (the amount of money they charge per night could easily be put back into the place for simple repairs and upkeep but it is not). Staff are not "there to please" - but more self serving. We had a rat attack our food (enclosed in a bag which the rat chewed through) right between our two double beds so you could say the place has "critters" about. Nonetheless to say, we did sleep great under the mosquito nets. Sabang beach is GEORGEOUS! Surf is tremendous and water temp perfect. Beautiful place.

i stayed there with my gf, in June 2009 during 3 nights. Very nice place located at the rear of the beautiful sabang beach. This is the last cottage along the beach. The rooms, in a native style are very simple with private bathroom. only 500 php/night. Of course i think it will not statisfied all kind of customers but if u want to stay in a native and simple place, this is definitely a good cottage!
Directly on the beach, close to the walkways connecting with sabang underground river with access to others beautiful isolated and hidden white sand beaches, mary's cottage is one of the best place where i stayed in philippines!!!

We stayed there for 4 days, and we liked the place very much, but the smell of humidity, mold from the bathroom was unbearable. There were 3 cm long fungus growing in the bathroom.
It's a pity because the place is really nice, at the end of a long white sand beach, a little bit apart, quite and cheap, we payed P400 per night for a fan cottage - not beach front.

What a dump, cockroach and ant infested, the cottages are rotten and they shake like they are about to collapse as you move about inside. The cottage we had only had one working lightbulb and lots of defunct wiring draped about. Electrical hazard. No maintenance has been done for years, the manager/owner is very negligent, I don't understand how the government can allow this place to operate. The place is a mess, tear it all down. There is a nice beach tho...

Okay, the owner was very friendly, the owner sent a carabao cart to pick us up from the port. The beach was better on this end, and the food was good (skip the grilled chicken). They forgot to give us blankets and pillows when we checked in. There were 2 toilets but poorly maintained and one of them was clogged all the time. A roach landed on me while I was showering.

It would have been perfect if the check in was more attentive and they regularly check and maintain the lavatories.

Oh yeah, they are near the Monkey Trail but really far away from the bus/jeepney area.
