In my opinion, this is one of the more peaceful areas to stay in when traveling in Mindoro Oriental. I rented a cottage, which was very comfortable and reasonably priced, with a modern bathroom, lighting and even cable TV (if you would want to watch it in a place like this), porch and clothesline for wet bathing suits and towels. You can also rent rooms in their largish hotel-style building. There was nothing like going to sleep by the sounds of the waves each evening, and the beach was quite clean. The only real noise came from the Korean school kids at the neighboring resort, but this was not a significant disturbance. I spent most of my time hanging out at the resort, swimming and reading books, and eating in their decent restaurant. You're also only a 10-minute walk over some rocks to neighboring White Beach for more restaurants, shops and loud music (inaudible at this resort, by the way). There is a free shuttle from the bangka ports, which I hadn't realized at first, but fortunately found out about from some other travelers who were also on their way here. Although they accept credit cards, the machine wasn't working when it was time to leave, but fortunately I had some enough extra cash to pay and leave via their shuttle in time to catch the early morning boat.
