Coco Beach Island Resort
Ranked #21 of 54 Hotels in Puerto Galera

Have been there twice, in 2010 and 2011. The hotel has a certain coziness to it and is very pretty. There is attention to details and the best part of it is that it is amongst many, many palm trees. The hotel's constraction and design fits this natural setting.

The hotel's concept is also remarkable. Each bangalow has its own "host-family" responsible for cleaning, room service etc. It kind of feels like home. How much you interact with this family, is completely up to you.
The hotel's customer service is excellent. We also tried their dive shop, which is highly recommended should diving be of interest to you. Great dive sites near by, by the way.
There are several restaurants, and although the hotel's prices are high for Philippine standards, it is still affordable and delicious.

The only downside is, that it almost feels like a Danish "colony". A more cosmopolitan palette of guests would be a plus - I would rather prefer to not hear my own language constantly while travelling abroad.

It would also be very nice to be have easier access to Sabang from the hotel by boat -one can feel a bit isolated at times here, especially in the evening where the hotel's bar gets very quiet (and closes at midnight).

There is something addictive about this hotel, so get prepared to come back again after visiting!

Our group spent one weekend at Coco Beach and we had a great time. We availed the "Coco Express" service from Diamond Hotel to Coco Beach, and altho it was rainy when we arrived at the resort, the warm welcome by the Coco Beach Staff made our day... It's been raining for most of the time, but nevertheless, our stay was awesome. The resort staff and their "personalized" service to every cottage made our stay an enjoyable one, the staff are very courteous, and always ready to help us around. What stood out the most was the deluxe nipa cottages where we stayed, we had a great view of the sea and the whole resort. The food might look a bit expensive, but in reality, it's not. Too bad we were not able to maximize our stay and we were not able to do the 101 activities offered by the resort. Definitely, we will come back!!!

Room Tip: Choose the de luxe nipa cottages, or if you have budget, the family suites for a great view of the s...

My fiance and I spent our weekend at coco beach and we totally had a great time. We availed of their shuttle service from Diamond Hotel to Coco Beach. It took us only an hour to get to Batangas because our driver really drives fast like he's driving a rally car. From Batangas port we took an outrigger boat to the resort. On our way to the resort we were able to see dolphins and it was good that they stop the boat so we can watch the dolphins.

Upon arrival we were greeted by their staff and was given welcome drinks. We got the hilltop room and it was quite a work out going up to our room but didn't mind since we got an awesome view and felt like we had the place all to ourselves. Hilltop rooms don't have A/C or TV but we're okay with that. We always have A/C and TV back in the city so it was a nice change. Also It was breezy in our room and the electric fan was good enough to cool our room. I was worried my fiance (who's such a couch potato) would complain about not having a TV in the room but he did not. Thanks to their guide of 101 things to do (there were also activities that were free of charge) he forgot about the TV.

The service family assigned to us were very accommodating, efficient, reliable and quick to response. Too bad room service is not 24 hours. We always had room service and they deliver our food in a short period of time. Our room was cleaned everyday and we loved it.

For room service, we got to order from the carabao restaurant. Food was good and price reasonable. A dish would normally cost from Php250-500 with rice included and good for sharing. We absolutely love our dinner from Dona Lina's revolving restaurant. It was a 5 course meal for Php800++. The main course was a very juicy and yummy steak. I think it was very cheap for that price. The breakfast buffet was just okay. You got the usual Filipino fare, different kinds of bread, cheese, cereal and omelet station.

The beach was just okay and it's only good to swim when it's high tide. Its rocky but its good if you like snorkling. Otherwise better use the pool They have 2 swimming pools. We love the silent pool because it has a jacuzzi and also it was near our room. They also have happy hour where you can buy 1 get 1 free cocktail of your choice. My only complaint was that it was spiked up with too much alcohol. I hardly finished my first glass.

At night, beware of frogs and lizard. I think those were the only thing that stressed me out a bit. But since Coco Beach is in a beach-jungle setting those creatures were expected. For peace of mind at night, they have guys who patrolled the area.

We were told that that the owner of the resort was Danish and that's why most of the guest are from Denmark or from other European countries. I noticed that some of their staff treats Filipino guest differently from foreign guests, But most of their staff that we encountered were very friendly and never failed to ask us if we needed something or offer some help.

Overall, I highly recommend this resort for people who like to get away from the city and enjoy the beauty of nature.

Coco beach is a very relaxing place unless you get very unlucky with your room like us, which was next to a group of very noisy young Russian people who partied/screamed at night and kept us awake. On the Ist night, we complained, the security guard came over but it didn't make any difference. After 2 nights, we asked for another room and got it. However, we heard from others that those noisy people continued partying/screaming at night. The thing is, the hotel staffs could have warned these people or even asked them to leave the hotel instead they continued being nice to them since these guys were rich and were spending lots of their money in the hotel bars, restaurants etc. etc. disturbing people who were there to relax! Coco beach also is a very money-based hotel so be careful! For e.g. we happen to be there for the new years when the hotel had organized a celebration party for 70-80 euros/person. We were not sure whether we wanted to participate since it was expensive but then we were told by the hotel guys that they were pretty sure that our package included new year celebration party since we came from Denmark. But when we were checking out (4 days later) they told us that the new year celebration was not include in our package so we had to pay. Don't listen to what they tell u, inquire for yourself otherwise you will be ripped!

I have stayed at Coco Beach twice over the last three years and the main reason for me returning was the great service. Coco Beach is very relaxing, but still has enough activities and possible excursions to fill up your vacation. The staff is very nice and helpful and always makes sure that you as a guest is comfortable.

There are a few restaurants on the hotel premises which all are good, the revolving restaurant especially. Prices are reasonable but a bit higher than the rest of Puerto Galera. Note that you can only leave the resort by boat so it's a bit complicated if you want to go in to Puerto Galera late at night etc, but everything can be solved.

The only downside in my opinion are the rooms that I find a bit to simple, you need to be prepared for some wildlife (bats and birds) being on the move in and outside your room at night. Also, the rooms I have stayed in doesn't have heated water.

I would definitely recommend anyone looking for a relaxing vacation to stay here for a few days.

Very relaxing but costly. Stayed there for three nights. Food can be a bit costly, boat rides are costly as well. You're located in Puerto Galera but you're not close to the main shopping area and have to take a boat that usually cost about 1000 pesos for a round trip. The service family was great, recommend staying in the heritage where there's hot water and internet. We had only cold water and had to go down to the restaurant to use the internet. The hotel staff is super friendly and they actually sit down and try and get to know you and your family so you feel apart of their family from the beginning. Their informational booklet they give you when you arrive explains alot, but not all of it is correct. Internet was free and local calls are free the book said it cost money not that I'm complaining. The suite we were in was very quiet and our only encounter with wild life was with frogs at night. Besides that it's a very quiet and relaxing resort it's a good place to just get away from it all

Room Tip: If you like hot water and internet choose the heritage. Yes it's expensive but you get some good...
