Owner description: Blue Ribbon Divers is located on Small Lalaguna Beach in Puerto Galera. We offer some of the cheapest diving on the beach, yet we are also very safe, friendly and professional. We like to base our diving around the diver. No dive Schedules, we speak to our divers and ask them where they want to go and what they want to see.All of our gear is very new, and maintained weekly. You will not regret diving with us. We have a range of accommodation around us, from budget to luxury, and are also in between two of the best restaurants on the beach.Email us for more information.

Nice resort. Staff are friendly and food is great.

Sabang is full of seedy western men and stinks!!! When it rains all the waste goes into the sea.

Thus diving is on an industrial scale and worst place I dived in two months of diving round all the islands in the Philippines. Don't waste your time if you are a serious diver.

Thank Chris P

Come back to Puerto Galera to see the upgraded new BlueRibbon Dive Resort. Knowing the resort from last year I was surprised what they have transformed it to!
To mention the new relaxation area to hang out after a wonderful dive or the very nice pool! So nice to hang out there and talk about the exiting stuff you have seen during your diving days, washing away the salty taste with an icecold San Miguel.
Not to forget the food: if your are on diet, you are at the wrong place here. Daily specials from around the world serve something for everyone.
Guys, we will be back as soon as possible!

We stayed and dove with Blue Ribbon divers for a week. Their boats are a few steps from the resort, with some rocks to step on especially at low tide. Entries are all back-roll. There was usually a driver +1 other boat-man to help hand gear into/out of the water. First dive of the day from BRD is around 9:30 or 10am – other resorts are loading up as early as 8:30. They have nice beach towels available daily. Of note -- the third dive of the day can be as late as 5pm and though they didn’t provide lights, they were needed for the best critter hunting. (Highly recommend bringing a decent dive light!) They offered night dives about every other day. The largest group we were in was 7 divers on one boat - in which case there were 2 guides, so it wasn’t a huge group. I rented gear and it was good quality. We were able to request the dive sites we desired - limited only by safety concerns due to strong currents at certain times as we were there during the full moon. The macro was amazing, and it's so nice to enjoy laid back surface intervals back at the resort, since the dive sites are within 10 minutes.

Our dives:
Day 1: night dive, Sabang wrecks.
Day 2: Dalaruan Reef: seahorses, muck dive with lots of macro.
Sabang Wrecks: mantis shrimp and ornate ghost pipefish. More macro.
Giant Clams: getting to be dusk and not many critters.
Day 3: West Escarcio - from big house, current pushed us right. Turtle, striped catfish.
Lalaguna point: Electric clam, nudis, colorful soft corals – ripping current.
Night dive – Dalaruan Reef: more current, pipe fish, lots of hermit crabs, shrimps, nudis.
There are a lot of ladies offering massage on the beach.
We also plan to go to one of the two floating bars off of Sabang Beach.
Day 4: Alma Jane wreck – deep at 80-90 ft.
Manila channel: drift with nice reefs
Dalaruan “B”: “exploration dive” with tons of pipefish, upside down jellies.
Day 5: Coral cove: lots of colors and coral, nudis, sea snakes.
Boulders: nice rock formations, choppy ride on the way out. Sea snakes.
Sebang wrecks: 2 huge frogfish.
Day 6: Sinandigan point: nudis, sea snakes
Sabang West: frogfish, eels, octopus
Night dive: Dalaruan ‘C’(?): watched cuttlefish eating minnows!
Day 7: The steps: nudis, turtle, sea snakes
Hole in the Wall: swim through, octopus, eels, nudis
Night dive: Little LaLaguna Beach: highlight was harlequin shrimp

I travelled solo to Puerto Galera and stayed and dived with Blue Ribbon.
Julia made check in and check out fast and no fuss.
The bungalow is big, the shower room basic but everything is clean and comfortable.
There's fresh clean towels every day.
The mosquitos are not a problem as mosquito repellent is provided.
The service is friendly at the restaurant and bar.

Diving
If you are into regimented schedules, then Blue Ribbon diving is not for you.
I love that it has a relax and chill vibe. Hey, it's a holiday!
I love that they are flexible with time and dive sites.
And as long as conditions permit, Baz will accommodate your request!
Thanks Baz, Ariel, Marco and the rest of the diving crew and boat men for a great time.

Suggestion for improvements:
A couple more power plugs in the room will be great.
These days, we have so many gadgets to charge!
Laptop, handphone, tablet, camera...

Cheers,
Yen
