“Best value... Great service.... Kind staff”
Reviewed August 9, 2012

The hotel is very well situated in White Beach Puerto Galera. Not too far and very close from the beach. The hotel is clean inside and out. The rooms are clean. So to say that it is one of the best value hotels. Service are well personalized. Kind staff and smiles at their guest. Great service to guest. Kind owners and LOVE the food. Very accomodating since we were caught stranded due to stromy weather.

Well, the place is not beach front, but it's a 2-minute walk from the beach, promise! My friends and I (total of 6 persons) stayed in their family room at the 3rd floor. :) The family room is very spacious. Clean bathroom, loved the hot shower. Though, they don't replace your towels, refill the toilet paper nor empty the trash cans when we go out (unless requested in the front desk). Mr Julius Datinguinoo was very helpful and accommodating to all of our concerns/requests. He even sent a staff to welcome us when our boat arrived the island. We were able to check-in an hour late because the guests before us checked-out late and they have to clean the room etc. Since we waited, the female (I think one of the owners), was very apologetic to us (hehehe some of us were a bit impatient already). The owner personaly guided us to our rooms in the 3rd floor. The place is pretty quiet at night. If you are a party/loud music person, this is not the place for you.

Room Tip: Rooms on the 3rd floor are quieter, you can see the beach from the balcony.

I stayed here for 2 nights a couple of years ago. It's a fairly small family run hotel set back 100 metres from the main beach behind a large resort. The staff were very friendly and the hotel was tastefully decorated and clean by Filipino standards. The room was Ok, fairly large, a large wetroom shower room, but the decor was a bit dated. It was OK for 2 nights and at 1800 PHP a night was reasonable for the money. Any more than 2 nights would have been too much, but overall for a short break to Puerto Galera it is adequate and conveniently located for the beach, beach bars, restaurants...etc

It's our first visit to Puerto Galera and staying at Sea Jewels Beach Resort was not a bad idea. Stayed there for 3 days/2 nights. We availed of their couples package which included breakfasts and boat transfers. Transacting with with Mr. Julius Datinguinoo was such a breeze. It was easy and he was very nice and professional though i was skeptic to transact via mobile only. I prefer businesses with land line numbers.

Service
The service here is great! The staff are very hospitable and quick to assist us in every way possible

Value
They're room rates and packages are justifiable.

Sleep Quality
Good. No disturbances or any noise at night.

Roo
Spacious. Good AC. Cable TV. Working Hot and Cold shower.

Stayed here from June 13-15 2012

Average. he place is quiet and clean. It was raining when we arrived and we were welcomed by a lady with an umbrella.

A few stuff that I expected that they should have:
1. No hair dryer: I went to the bathroom right away to check one, did not see it, I though I can request for one but they don't really have one.

2. Shampoo and toothpaste: Soap is by request. If you don't have shampoos/toothpaste with you, you can buy outside ( A sari sari store in front of VM beach resort which costs 10.00)

A few more reminders:
1. For me I don't think it's safe to leave your room keys with them, with they just leave it there in he table, you would not know, someone may just pick it up and go to your room ( you know what I mean.

2. Wi- fi is only in the ground floor.

3. If you get to the hotel through Minnolo, the way I understand, is that they can arrange that they can pick you up at time of you choice going back to the port

4. I was not able to ask if they cant replace your towels, because it does take time for towels to dry. So if you will stay here please do ask and TELL ME if they do replace your towels ( by replying to his review)

Overall, people there are really nice, you can ask them anything, (food, toiletries, transport etc)

Take time to roam around for good food (not so expensive food and good serving. I ordered bangus here for breakfast and the bangus was small and its a expensive for that kind of serving)

It's an average place, do not expect too much. The MOST IMPORTANT is that in this place WE DID NOT ENCOUNTER ANY PROBLEMS. (except for the shampoo, which was not a big issue because we were able to buy in the sari sari store and the hair dryer - which did not effect our stay there at all. but would be a lot nicer if they have all these) and this hotel DID NOT HINDER US IN ENJOYING OUR VACAY IN THIS BEAUTIFUL ISLAND

Room Tip: We did not get the room that we reserved. We wanted a room with a veranda, for its easier to dry clo...

we stayed here last June 3-4, 2012.. It was a nice choice of hotel, as we arrive at the hotel there was this girl welcome us at the front gate of the hotel and accompanied us inside,.. Inside the hotel the ambiance was kinda gloomy because only few light were on and i can only see few people specially on the third floor were we stayed in,.. but their staff were nice and very accommodating, i don't have any regrets staying to this hotel, i don't know if i will return to Puerto Galera because riding a RORO was really a hell for me,..

Pros:
1. Best Staff. We were welcomed far off from the gate. They volunteered to bring our stuff. They initiated to have our cake refrigerated. They did everything we asked for. And they do it with big smiles! Two thumbs up with a big wide grin for customer service!
2. Location. It's near the beach and the docking station of the boats.
3. Clean Rooms and Facilities. The place is well maintained, considering the fact that wet people walk to and fro the gate.
4. Pay-Per-View in the Rooms. We were booked during the Pacquiao-Bradley fight and nothing kept us more alive than Solar Access inside our room.
5. We Had a Personalized Welcome Banner! 'Nuff said.

Cons:
1. We booked for a room for 6 but we were given a room for 5. They said they received our confirmation a few moments after all the biggest rooms were booked. One of us had to sleep on an extra bed. Boooooooooo.
2. No free soap and shampoo. I should have known.
3. Drinking water is not free. I don't understand why they have to make the guests pay for a glass of water. Oh, and it's P5 per glass!
4. Water pressure from the faucet is very slow, it's almost impossible to use the shower. It's disappointing when you wanna use the shower instead of the 'tabo.' And though there's an option for hot/cold, the 'cold' water is still warm.
5. Security Issue. Guests leave their keys on the reception which is sometimes not manned by anybody. And even if someone's guarding the keys, you can easily pretend to be someone from any room and grab their key.

Recommendation: 80% positive. Just pray that nobody else takes your keys while you're away.

Room Tip: Select a room near the veranda. You can use that to dry your wet clothes.
