“Best local food, best value”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 11, 2012

If you're staying in Small La Laguna (or even Sabang), the Full Moon restaurant undoubtedly serves the best local (Philippine, Thai, Chinese) food in the area. The chef is an internationally trained kitchen master who swears by using only natural ingredients (and secretly accuses the other nearby restaurants of having 'no love for cooking' because they don't). The restaurant's expansive organic herb garden, a few meters back from the shore than the establishment itself, is probably one of the main reasons every meal I've eaten at the Full Moon restaurant tastes so good. And best of all, it's less expensive than most of their competition.

“Good Thai food - friendly chef Manny”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 19, 2012

Stopped in here as the Thai food was recommended. I tried it, and I can see why. It's a nice little bar / restaurant on Small La Laguna beach. Not too many people here, but my friend and I tried two different Thai dishes and both of us thought they were excellent. I had a chicken green curry over rice. The best part was that the chef (Manny - an older Philipino gentleman who used to live in Thailand) put fresh ginger and garlic sprinkled on top. I have never had that with Thai food, but the blend of flavor and texture was perfect. Very nice!

“Best place to eat in Puerto Galera”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 15, 2012

This was by far the best place to eat in Sabang's small la laguna. Manny the chef cooked us an unforgettable meal. Seared mahi mahi with baby carrots as the main, broccoli and parmesan soup, a house julien salad and delicious lumpia spring rolls. To top it all off he made us a free desert of fruit flambe with ice cream and walnuts as it was our last night there. All this for only US$12 for two people. If there is a way that you liked your food made (IE extra garlic or sweet rather than sour) just say the word and you will not be disappointed with what you have ordered. Another good thing about the food here is that Manny uses no MSG which is something that just about every restaurant (and any chips, nuts, etc..) in the Philippines uses. You have only to talk to the chef Manny to see that his greatest passion in life is food. He has trained all over the world (Italy, Switzerland, Germany and Dubai to name a few) to perfect authentic styles of cooking. Manny and I had a long conversation earlier that day in front of his herb garden (which is only steps away from the restaurant and his house) about cooking and his passion for it. To top all of this off we were staying at Sha Che which so the restaurant was 15 meters from the door of our room. Thanks Manny for an unforgettable dinner and if I were to return to Puerto Galera I would eat here everynight.
