From the houses on the ridge , N.W. of Batad village , you find the steps going steeply down in the gorge . There are some stalls where you can buy drinks . The waterfall is 30m high , and splahes water till the last steps of the trail. Swimming is good and refreshing but BEWARE : do not leave the sides of the pool under the waterfall , there is a strong current back to the waterfall and going nder means instant death ;
I had been once in may 2008 , it was huge ; this time , it was just big.. local boys come down swimming and fishing.

If you think you can make then think again.
If you have any doubts, just don't go.

But if you really want to go, I highly recommend hiring a local guide, it will save you precious time and energy. I have seen other tourist who got lost, it's either they went too high or too low in the rice terraces to get to the waterfalls.

Don't go when it's raining. Stay safe.

You must travel to Batad by foot, one hour off the closest road. Then you must pass through to get to Tappiyah Falls. Bring some extra cash to buy drinks along the way. There are several women who carry kilos of drinks to their stations each day so that travelers can have a drink along the way. In fact, everythign you see in the town has ultimately been transported by foot. Tappiyah Falls is no different.

Beautiful. Secluded. Refreshing after a long journey.

Advice: Stop at the Pizza Restaurant along the way, place your order, then go to the falls. Stay. Swim. Be refreshed. Towel off and walk back and your order will be almost ready (yes, they're that slow at the restaurant).

A guide will take you all around Batad, to the falls, and back to the road, all which takes about four to six hours. The going rate is about 400 pesos.

Many concrete step to get to the Falls make for a challenging hike, but they do not disappoint. Make sure to plan for a quick dip in the cool clean waters!

We were more than 40 travellers, All Filipinos. Only 2 have been there. The rest- first timers like me. Those whose age are 43 and above were unable to reach the falls. Also the little ones, 7 to 12 years. It was summer yet we forgot about the heat. Good thing I did not carry much. Just one pair of clothing and a bottle of water. It was a crazy hike. Nearly fell while passing the rice terraces (no other way to the falls) got dizzy at the heat and height, glad to be with a cousin who is an experienced trekker, she guided me till we reached a wider path. It took us 3 hours to get to the falls, and 3 hours to come back. The water falls during the summer is as cold as ice! A beautiful Creation of God!
