I did not stay there but I just ate their restaurant.

Staff is a little indifferent. I do not sense any form of welcome from them.

Food is average. The pork is so salty and I wonder is this normal.

Having said that, the restaurant is filled tot he brim in the morning but once after breakfast, you can see it almost empty. This is a place to meet other travellers too.

The staff at this lodge are generally good, but mostly indifferent to your needs. The restaurant is ok. The view is really nice. Looking through my metal grated window, I realized that if there was a fire, I would be trapped inside. The bedrooms and bathroom were clean. All in all, if you don't care about luxury, this hotel is adequate for a traveler interested in exploring the rice terraces in the area.

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the end of the hall. It has a nicer view and in a fire, you are not caged in.

We wanted to stay at Greenview but that was full - this was next door and in the LP book so we thought it would be OK - and I suppose it was. We had room 006 at the front of the building with two windows onto the street where all the trike riders rev up their engines. The room had two single beds and an en suite shower-room for Php600 per night. Breakfast wasn't included but the service and quality of the food in the restaurant suggests that this was probably a good thing - the sandwiches were inedible and the omelette was overcooked. As well as charging for charging up camera batteries, laptops and cell-phones, the restaurant charges for cups of hot water too - and the service comes with a very sullen face! Justin was a reasonable guy who owned a trike and sorted us with a trip to Batad. We had one night in the guesthouse but left our big packs in the store while we went to Batad - there's also a charge for this too but fortunately the woman forgot to charge us. A shower after vacating your room would cost Php100. Try elsewhere first.

Room Tip: There's no powerpoint in the room but, with a four-gang extension lead we always carry with us...

We got to the peoples lodge without looking it up first - what a mistake!
The room was OK but the owner was so unconsiderate and rude to us that we actually moved to a different hotel before sleeping there at all... and she still demanded the entire fee for the night!!
During our lunch there the owner watered her plants at the above floor and it spilled on our table.. she saw it, laughed and continued to poor water on us so we actually had to move to a different table. By the way, the food was barely eatable.
There are more stories to tell but I hope you get the idea: if you know what's good for you, keep away from that place.

Rooms are OK, somewhat nice like what most review says but the service are really bad. We had bad experience with the people who works there (owner, waitress, etc) and the tour guides who negotiate a deal. Those tour guides will never leave you alone, even if you are eating and even if you are tired from 10-hour bus ride. If you meet someone named Blaire, you might wanna re-consider. He is a horrible tour guide! He tricked us, paid more for less.

Definitely don't stay away from People's Lodge if you can because it can just ruin your trip.

Room Tip: Try "Las Vegas Inn and Restaurant!" A big family runs it. Food are good. Service is good...

Like others have said, the rooms were decent and the views are spectacular each floor has a shared veranda overlooking the terraces and river below. But dealing with the staff pretty much ruined it.

The good service pretty much ended as soon as we booked the room. For dinner we weren't so hungry and after striking out on our first four requests because the food wasn't available, we ordered two cups of vegetable soup and a pancake. After nearly 30 minutes the waitress came back with a BLACK burned pancake and set it down in front of my brother without a word. We sent it back and left to try someplace else while my parents waited for their soup. They said it eventually came but described it as "dishwater with a few chopped up carrots."

Will not return. Try the Sanafe up the street instead. Went there for breakfast the next morning and had the opposite experience and an even more spectacular view.

Room Tip: Rooms below the highway (below the first floor) are quieter.

At the time of our visit Lodge was mostly empty and yet the service was soo slow. Room was nice and clean, but the food at their restaurant had barely any taste. The lady at the counter tried to trick us when paying for our room - not very nice.
