We loved our stay in Uhaj, Banaue. The Native Village is a very unique place with gorgeous views and in harmony with its surrounds. The cottages provide a glimpse into the lives of the indigenous Ifugao people. It’s simple, clean and isolated – great for relaxing, but make sure to organise transport if you want to visit Banaue. Graham, the owner, is very hospitable and full of local insights. The staff are friendly and polite. We even grew fond of Blackie (the resident dog ) by the end of our stay. The view from the restaurant and the village is truly breathtaking. Well worth the visit!
To make the 10-hour trip from Manila worth its while, make sure you stay at least three nights as there is a lot to see. The ride was very picturesque and we were glad we took the transfer and accommodation package with Graham, as most of the local drivers prefer to drive you during the night, so you miss out on the scenery. Not to mentioned that most of local drivers in Manila we spoke to thought that the rice terraces are in Baguio, which is 8 hours drive from Banaue – make sure your driver doesn’t make this mistake.

I have accidentally stayed here the first time after a trip to a remote area in Nueva Vizcaya got cancelled due to a typhoon. We took a chance to go to Banaue even though my experience of accommodation there has not been very good. I heard about the Native Village Inn so we gave it a try. Our stay was so pleasant we decided to cancel all our other plans and just stay. We took our mountain bikes and went for a great ride past the Hungduan rice terraces, had a bonfire in the evening and enjoyed ice cold beer. The staff are very friendly and accommodating, the food is good, the views in the morning are superb. I have come back several times since that first trip and every succeeding one has been great.

Room Tip: Arrive during the day so you can see the sunset. Two days minimum is recommended to have time to wa...

June 2013. We booked a 3days/4nights package at the NVI including transportation from and to Manila - and we loved it! Even the 8-hour ride from Manila to Banaue is worthwhile in every aspect. Graham safely drove us into the mountains and kept us in a good mood by happily sharing information about the country and its people, lively discussions and cheesecake :-) The NVI is located beautifully on a hilltop with a splendid, panoramic view. We’ve travelled many places and can only acknowledge that the NVI and its surroundings can be counted amongst the most wonderful places on earth. The rustic village facility is held neat and clean, the food is delicious and they serve the nationwide best tea. A place to take a break from everyday life and to make excursions to the impressive environment. If you’re a friend of nature, this is the place to be and you’ll most definitely love it!

Visited Banaue last July, together with 15 other family members ranging from 11 to 72 and stayed at Native Village Inn for 3 nights. Monina and her staff were excellent. They went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. The views at the inn were priceless. You could see the terraces in your backyard. The awesome Ifugao huts that we stayed in were spacious and comfortable.Elvis, the trekking guide they recommended, was amazing. He was not only knowlegeable but also entertaining. We did the Batad Saddle and Hungduan treks and the kids (as well as the adults) had a blast! The whole Banawe experience was unforgettable. The ride to the inn was long and bumpy, but we thought it added to the charm of the whole experience.

This inn is truly a gem! It is right in the heart of the rice terraces, with spectacular views and breathtaking sceneries. I personally think that there is no better accommodation in the area than this. Our family of 18 people occupied 5 huts and the owner, Monina, was very attentive to our needs and was able to accommodate all our requests. The huts are very authentic which added to the quaintness and charm of our over all experience. We did our trekking with Elvis, Native Village Inn's guide. He is highly recommended! We did the Hungduan via Hapao Hot Springs and the Batad Saddle treks and had a great experience. The 5 kids in our group, the ages ranging from 11 to 14, had a blast, all thanks to Elvis. Thank you for a wonderful experience!!!

I've been there and it's out in the middle of nowhere and nothing to do. There's no transport except a jeepney passing twice a day, once in either direction. Trikes are very hard to find and if you do find one, the driver wants an exorbitant rate. This place is about ten km out of Banaue. While it's a nice place perhaps for monks to meditate since there's nothing to do it just won't satisfy the needs of most visitors to Banaue who want to see things and do things. Even your mobile phone out there lacks consistent service.

Thank you Graham for your patience helping us out on the phone to find your wonderful place. For guests with their own car: it's half way up the road to Hungduan before Hapao. Hungduan is 25km from Banaue on a winding road. The cement surfacing is half done as of now. Hapao is a must to visit and walk and this accommodation is very well located to do so. The view is breathtaking and staff friendly! It's not a hotel or B&B but classifies as specialty lodging and ideal for groups as bathrooms are shared and stilted huts are close to each other. It offers a big pavilion for meetings and meals. The pavilion has a kitchen built in it and a fire place in the middle.
