The Duta Garden is absolutely beautiful. The grounds are lush gardens with numerous ponds, waterfalls, trees and swimming pools. They are impeccably well kept.

The rooms present a tasteful mix of decor including Javanese and Eurpean styling, and are cleaned thoroughly each day. Most rooms also have their own furnished patio. Fans, ceiling or floor, would be helful throughout the property in all rooms and common areas.

The downside is the food. Breakfast is sparse with few options. Dinner was a stretch, with chicken soup served as a curry, and factory processed vegetables. They don't even serve ikan or ayam goreng (I'm partial to Sundanese cuisine).

If prepared to dine off site, Duta Garden is a fine choice.

Very nice hotel in central Yogya. It is located a bit south of the sultan palace in a dead end street so there is not much traffic making it nice and quiet. We did hear the muezzin of one of the nearby mosques, however.
The rooms are arranged in two story bungalows within a lovely tropical garden (hence the hotel name), complete with birds, butterflies, water falls, pools with fish and small pathways leading through the garden. Each room has a terrace or balcony. Rooms are spacious and have nice dark wooden furniture that seems to be the standard fashion in many hotels in Indonesia.
The breakfast was also very good comprising both continental and Indonesian food. You can additionally have made to order eggs and pancakes.
The staff was very friendly and helpful making our stay really pleasant. We booked the standard tours via the hotel front desk and were quite happy with it. There are lots of other tour operators one street away, plus restaurants, cafes, etc.
A nice bonus were the welcome muffins we received upon arrival, not to mention the welcome drink.

We stayed at the Duta Garden Hotel during the first week of August. The rooms were clean and the grounds were a delightful quiet paradise in a very bustling and vibrant town. Breakfast was good and the location of the hotel is only a short walk from some very good restaurants. We really loved our stay at this hotel.

Hotel looks lovely. The setup of the different buildings with rooms around a garden and pool looks amazing. The path created through this garden is cute and surrounded by waterfalls and ponds with a lot of fish.

Across the street is the reception and breakfast area and I believe more rooms.

Breakfast is decent with some pancakes and eggs made to order. Rooms are okay, good airco and very spacious, but cleanliness is more according to Indonesian standards. We didn’t always have hot water in the shower.

From the hotel there is a shortcut to Prawirotaman street, which has many nice restaurants and an awesome tourist office. Definitely swing by this street during your stay.

We booked this accomodation, small very cosy hotel. BUT, they cancelled our booking at the time that we were already travelling. It seems that it happens more in Indonesia, we european people like reliable hotels. After negotiating of our travelagency they accepted us again.
Friendly people, near to Prawirotman.

Room tip: To get to your room, you have to walk over big stones.
