After having visited most of the city, I think that for me this one was the more authentic place to visit. Don't go with any prepared visit or having a typical "cultural" visit walking and taking photos like if it was a zoo. Just find some friendly locals and have a walk around the kotagede area, spending the evening and enjoying the real live, traditional food, the people and everything else.

located 9km from Jogja, this traditional architecture town actually sound means "BIG CITY". It is all silver business here, with many small store selling silver acessories in reasonable price.

-how to go: by bycle is the most economical way, or aask any Ojek (motobike driver ) to send and wait you there.

i go to this place almost a week in row due to some bussiness. This place has amazing architecture, javanese mix with Netherland. a lot of historical places.

In this town there's also many traditional food that in other place nobody made it anymore such as Kipo. This town is also had a lot of silver's shop. and a lot of traditional silversmith and you can get cheaper price if you buy it directly from them rather than from the big shop.

This is a town that is the Silver processing center near Yogya. It's only about 8 km from the city and has numerous small (and one or two huge) silver shops.
You can find small rings and earrings at reasonable prices-- depending on cost of silver at the moment, and the people in the family run shops are friendly and happy to help.
