This is one of the least known hotel that offers first class service and room.

I was shocked to pay only around Rp 480,000 per night during the July holidays and got this LOVELY hotel. Situated near the famous part of the town (Malioboro), this hotel is very accessible. Also, there are shopping places near the hotel, such as Mirota (traditional souvenir shop. Love this place.)

They offer great breakfast too.

I can honestly say this is the best hotel in Jogjakarta as compared to other famous 5-star hotels that is filled with people smoking indoors.

Directly across the hotel, there is a nice Nonya restaurant service Nonya dishes. It's affordable and tasty. In case you don't know where to eat, have a try at that restaurant (it's walking distance)!

Room Tip: The room is VERY clean, but try to get the room close to the swimming pool to avoid getting a noisy...

We had a very nice four night stay at this hotel in July 2012. This was our second visit to the hotel. This time we had one of the standard rooms overlooking the pool on the third floor. The rooms are average size but beautifully appointed and the balcony is large enough for two people to sit and relax. As far as I could tell the rooms, hallways and public areas of the hotel were spotless. The hotel stretches back from the main road and is very quiet once you get inside the lobby.

There is a medium sized fitness center and sauna which was perfect for our needs. The breakfast is absolutely amazing, far too many choices! I'm glad we had four days in which to try everything. The staff is friendly, relaxed, ready to help. They do a good job of anticipating needs. The have a very helpful concierge service and they were glad to help us get a taxi for a couple of hours to do some sightseeing at the lesser known temples around Prambanan, as well as helping us get dinner reservations.

My only complaint is that the hotel discriminates against non smokers. Smoking is allowed in much of the breakfast seating area and non smokers have no choice but to endure it. Indonesians who smoke are inconsiderate, yet nothing is done to control their behavior or limit smoking in much of the breakfast area. It is a shame that paying guests are forced to share their breakfast with cigarette smoke from visiting indonesian businessmen who may not have even been guests at the hotel.

In spite of that, I would definitely return here for the beauty, friendliness and value offered!

The original part of the hotel, built in the early 20th century, has a courtyard and is quite charming. The new part of the hotel where the rooms are situated overlooking a central pool is connected by a corridor. The decent-sized rooms perhaps need a refurbishment but for the price paid, offer good value. Most of the staff encountered were friendly, efficient and eager to help. The food at the restaurant, Paprika, was average. Have not ventured outside of the hotel so can not comment upon the location. But would choose again to stay on the next trip.

Service was first class, the decor was a stunning and the food was divine. However the barman doesn’t know how to make a margarita that was advertised as their signature drink during the month of July. On the negative side I still find in this day and age that smoking is still part of the day to day running of the hotel catering for a small majority of customers that has ash trays on the dining tables, huge turn off.

Stayed at this hotel in June 2012, and it was hands-down the best hotel we stayed at while travelling through Java. The building itself is beautiful and very well-maintained, worth a work through in and of itself. Nice pool, though we never had a chance to use it. The rooms were great, very clean and comfy. Breakfast was fantastic, large variety of food including both Indonesian and western. In terms of location, the hotel is a short becak ride away from Malioboro street (the main shopping street). Would definitely stay here again!

It goes without saying that you should visit the Prambanan temples while you're in town. Also, try to catch the Ramayana ballet, which takes place most evenings with a stage set in front of the temples.

This hotel is fun tastic. The interior is unique, combine amongst traditional javanese, chinese, colonial charm and modern taste. You will feel different atmosphere at the lobby, the furniture is so classic. This hotel has historical story, there is Mercedez ex Soekarno, the 1st Indonesian President in front area of this hotel. The staff's uniform is colonial style, so unique.

The breakfast is good, so many options, but the room is too small.
The swimming pool is also small but nice.
The mini water fountain in the center of the restaurant is really good idea.

Although this hotel was built during colonial era, but I felt comfy.
The location is strategic, near Tugu.
