“Had a great stay”

The hotel building is kind off small ruko (home office) look a like at Gandekan Lor street, which is at the end of Dagen street. Took 10 minutes walk from stasiun Tugu. We book for 4 days and 3 nights. The room is very small, only fit for 2 people on each room but it's really clean and the bed was comfortable. It has a small TV, mirror, clothes hanger, towel hanger, trash can, small fan, air con and night lamps. Even if the room is very petite, but you can put your luggage, backpack, shoes and other stuff inside. They even give a snack basket contain bottled water, biscuit, noodle cup and free refill everyday. Really good interior for small room and the hotel interior is also modern, clean and nice. Shared bathroom is also in a good condition, clean, with hot water shower and the best thing is, they provide a hairdryer on wastafel outside. The wifi was also works well.

Too bad we didn't get cabin room with window, but it doesn't matter if you're sight seeing Yogya all day long and only use the hotel for sleep, rest and showering. The staff was really helpful, friendly but unfortunately there's no room service so they didn't clean your room while you're out.

Overall it's a really good hotel for a budget traveler / backpacker who wants some convenient hotel with cheap and reasonable price. But if you're looking for a bigger room, you can try somewhere else.

Room Tip: try book corner cabin with window on the second floor

This hotel was pretty pleasant to stay at. It was worth the price considering that it is so near to Malioboro. The room was clean and properly decorated, and AC worked perfectly. The only downside is that the bathroom wasn't enough! There are only 3 bathrooms/toilets for each floor and many times I had to hold my urges because they were all occupied. That was really annoying. Also, just a suggestion, I wish that the hotel would put "SILENCE" sign on the hallway because some of the guests were just plain inconsiderate and somewhat barbaric. They were being extremely noisy at night.

This hotel is clean and good enough for the price. The rooms are small yes, but you can manage and they are well equipped. However, it says a/c but it barely works and is ducted so you no control over it so get use to just the fan. The biggest downside is the constant yelling and screaming in the hallway from the family that live there!! It was unbearable right outside my door all hours of the day and night. You also have to pay extra depending on what time you check out, you get a packet of tissues as toilet paper and there were stains on my sheet. Other than this I would have recommended this hotel, but maybe try somewhere else.

like its name, literally means petite room. i stayed in a room for two, with twin beds occupying the space. it is well decorated except for some inconvenient due to the room size and installation of electric socket which was way too far from the tv :-P with the dormitory concept, the toilets and bathrooms are shared with others. so the cleanlines is somehow depends on the guests. trouble is when you have to share them with people who dont believe in toilet karma. you also have to note down that some of these rooms dont have window. it might be inconvenient for some people who needs room with an outside view. but overall, this hostel is nice. suit for real backpacker.

As far as first impressions go, despite the crammed reception area, the narrow walkways, not having a lift & the tiny rooms, there was something that felt good about this place!

Check in was was swift & we were promptly shown to our rooms. There's no lift, so staying on the first floor may be best - you could stay on the ground floor too & not have to lug your bag up the stairs but I reckon it could be a bit noisy with all the activity at the reception area. The rooms were tiny but, I suppose, true to their name, it was cabin-like. There was a single bed but beneath it was another pull-out bed. However, when you pull out the 2nd bed, you could no longer open the room door! Somehow, we weren't in the least irked by this but found it rather amusing! Why the management had decided on this type of beds over bunk beds (which would also keep with the whole cabin theme) is beyond me!

However, the room was clean, the mattress was comfortable (tho' the pillow was a little too soft for my liking - minor issue really) there was space by the foot of the bed to place your bags, a TV, ample hooks to hang your clothes, a rail to hang your towels, which were provided, air conditioning, a small fan, a night light & a socket with adaptor. We noticed that, due to space constraints, most people left their footwear by the door outside their rooms. And, there was a 'welcome basket' consisting of 2 bottles of water, 2 cup noodles & 2 packets of tissues - we thought it was a nice touch!

There are 3 toilets/showers on each floor (except the ground floor where there's 2) & 1 sink. They were clean but they didn't have any toilet paper (maybe that's why they put the packs of tissues in the 'welcome basket'?). There's a water dispenser & hot water jugs at the reception area. And, they also had an assortment of snacks, cup noodles & drinks on sale there too.

Location wise it was great - Gandekan Street, where the hotel is situated, is parallel to the lively Malioboro Street. So, all you need to do is come out of the hotel, walk like 10 paces, turn left into Dagen Street, walk all the way to the end & you're on Malioboro, with the Malioboro Mall diagonally to your left. Since there are lots of hotels at Dagen Street, it's quite a busy street with lots of food stalls & people most time of the day. So, when we walked back from Malioboro at close to 11pm, Dagen was still abuzz & we felt safe walking there.

The staff here are a pretty young, energetic crew - very pleasant, helpful & hardworking (they always seem to be busy cleaning!) which made our stay all the more pleasant!

Regardless of the size, I liked this place, the price was good (like USD9 per person per night), it's conveniently located - I enjoyed my stay here & wouldn't mind returning to stay here if I were in Yogyakarta.

I stayed in The Cabin Hotel Jogjakarta for 3 nights during Long Weekend in January 2013. Since this is a budget hotel, i did not expect much. But when i arrived at the hotel, it turned out beyond my thought. The receptionist was very nice and helful. Not like other hotel, i felt like at home. The hotel also clean and tidy. The bathroom is shared, but i believe it will not be a matter for you since it is very clean, and there ai hot and cold water available. The Hotel is new and was built since August 2012. It has 3 floors and 19 rooms. Every floor has 3 shared bathroom which is quite ok. The staff was very helpfull. I found that they treat the guest as family. My overall stay was ok. I really recommend this hotel for you who is travelling on budget but seek for comfortability and quality. The Location is near from Tugu Train station and Malioboro street. If you go to the hotel by pedicab from train station, it costs only IDR 10,000. And if you want to go to Malioboro street by pedicab from the hotel, it costs only IDR 5000, but if you want to walk the street it only takes 10 minutes.

Room Tip: Choose room face to the street to see the city activity. It is nice.
