“Amazing ambiance, fantastic food, superb service”
Reviewed March 28, 2014

Being a first timer to Indonesia, everything seams exotic and unfamiliar. Dining at Abhayagiri Restaurant was the first time I felt somewhat at home with the highly-trained, English speaking staff and the very recognizable dishes on the menu. When the meal arrived I was pleasantly surprised how the international dishes were infused with local spices and ingredients (I had the Norwegian Salmon steak... scrumptious!).
Apart from the food tasting delicious, the view and surroundings blew me away. You can sit and dine on a terrace with a breath-taking view over a vast valley with cloud covered mountains in the distance. A few famous temples peak out from the rolling brush and at dusk the vista is something from a painting.
I would not miss this experience if you are visiting Yogyakarta (Indonesia, for that matter.)

“Not worthed”
Reviewed March 4, 2014

I was expecting and outdoor romantic dinner with prambanan temple view in front of me.. But the outdoor seating is lack of lighting and I barely see my food or my spoon. The view was not as I expected, It was terrible I think.. the food is so expensive and the taste is ordinary...

“A not so good restaurant”
Reviewed February 8, 2014 via mobile

The view was everything. They do sell the place, the service, and they view but the dish was so devastated.
The price is a bit high but yes it's worth the view and everything except the taste. It was ok, just an ok while I except more from it.

“stunning view, romantic, good food.”
Reviewed January 15, 2014 via mobile

Easy enough to find, just drive slowly from prambanan towards boko temple.
It has stunning view of merapi, only when it's not cloudy. But still, can view prambanan and the city.
There is also something like a temple in the garden area, i wonder if that's a real old temple or they built it.
Best seats are at the lower terrace. But inside is also nice and comfortable.
It has got swimming pool and some loungers.
Ordered duck salad it was great, duck nasi kebuli was also great, mixed fruit juice was nothing special, melted chocolate cake and cheese cake for dessert. As i don't eat strawberry, it was disappointing that the desserts i ordered came with unnecessary strawberry sauce, not on the side.
But overall, food is good and reasonably priced (mains >80.000++), drink is so so and i think a bit overpriced, (45.000++) but still ok.
Staff are friendly and helpful.
I'll come again.

“Five Star”
Reviewed January 10, 2014

It is a hidden gem. Took quite an effort to go there but it was definitely worth it. We came in after the sun sets. Beautiful view overlooking Yogyakarta night. Too bad when we came there they had shortage of supplies so only a handful of menu was available. Must try the chocolate melt. The best I have had by far! Only improvement they can make is to have more waitstaff available because they clearly were short of people to cater for the patrons.
