Hi Yosandy
Thank you for your kind review, I'm glad that you liked the place.
A small note to the readers about your review, in order to avoid any misunderstanding: we do not have a restaurant in our hotel (but there's one next door), so there is no dining here... unless someone wants, like you, to dine at 8 pm having the breakfast menu. That, of course, is possible! :-) :-) :-)
We do have a terrace where guests can enjoy drinks or snacks, but no food is available. I wish I could have served you better for dinner, but that is impossible because of the small size of our kitchen.
Cheers Yosandy, hope you enjoyed Yogya :)

Nice place in the best budget location in the city close to Tugu railway station (convenient to go to Solo, Surabbaya, etc)
Rooms are not large but quite comfy and you understand the owner thought about his guests: you have plenty of small needful things there like hangers, hookers etc which prove to be very handy. TV, A/C, mirror and even a window - the latter is actually a very nice surprise in Yoggia. There is a list of the ideas where to go and what to do in the city with the idea of the prices you can expect to pay for taxi, tours and so on - in each room. You can use the hotel umbrellas when it rains and there is a small but pleasant terrace in front, so you can watch the life in the street.
Note that the location itself lies on the way the airplanes are landing so you can hear them pass by regularly. For us it was not at all disturbing, though.
We travelled with our 18-moths old baby and the staff were very friendly and nice to her.
Definitely recommended.

my wife and i had the great pleasure of staying at Andrea Hotel for 5 nights. after last year's disaster of staying at a guesthouse across from Andrea (Setia Kawan, see our earlier review on this place) we could not have been happier at Andrea Hotel. Clean bed, clean sheets, clean shower, good WIFI, good AC and a simple breakfast we really enjoyed our stay in Jogja this time.(in all fairness the weather also helped a lot)
Sammy, the owner is a wonderful host and very helpful and he has some lovely, courteous staff. my wife and i are in our mid-70's and we enjoyed talking to the backpackers.
we had room 2, deluxe double room at about A$25 and that was great value. the hotel is situated in a small street off Jl. Sosrowijayan and the hotel is about 5 minutes from Jl.Malioboro, 15 minutes to the Kraton and Jl.Malioboro is THE street in Jogja to visit.(at least 100 streetstalls)
the street where Andrea is located is full of guesthouses and restaurants and really has a lot of character and there is a lovely lady down the road (i think she was Vanessa) who does your laundry for Rp.7000 (70 cents a kilo).
the hotel has a lovely front verandah with about 4-5 tables and chairs, so if it is raining you can sit there and still talk to people and watch the locals, beats sitting couped up in a room.
when in Yogyakarta stay at Andrea Hotel, you will not regret it.
how is the woodcarving going, Sammy? any more birds?
the hotel is also about 5 minute walk from the railwaystation

Room Tip: we found room 2 very pleasant

Hello GoldCoastBatik
Thank you for the excellent review you have written about our hotel and staff.
We are all fine here, I hope that both of you are as well.
More carvings? Of course! The bird is finished, I've done a few small ones, a real size dagger, and now I'm making an airplane, scaled 1:150. You'll see which model it is when you come next year! :-)
Bye-bye, enjoy your time.
Sammy

Andrea Hotel is a great budget hotel option. The staff is very friendly and helpful, rooms are spacious and clean, and the surrounding area of the hotel has great restaurants and places to go. It is very close to the train station as well as the main tourist attractions. I would recommend to anyone visiting Jogja!

I am so glad that I chose to stay here. The place is clean though room is smallish but expected.

Having done my research before my trip, in Malioboro area, you either pay more for a bigger room or there are hotels that even charge more for a smaller room than what we got here.

Samy, the owner and all the staff, from front counter to the housekeeper are genuinely friendly and helpful. Very pleasant atmosphere.

Wifi signal in room is weak but always work in the terrace. Location of hotel is great - close to convenient shops, food stalls and Jalan Malioboro.

It's a small hotel with limited rooms. Room size is just nice for a couple. Wifi in the room is weak. TV channels is okie. Hot water is only available upon request. Location of hotel is great. Just a stone throw away from Maliohoro epic centre.

Staff and owner Sammy are very friendly and helpful. They will do extra to ensure guests have a great stay.

Breakfast is very basic, however, whatever available along the street (gang 2) is simply outstanding. Quite often, we will buy nasi gedug as extra breakkie. Tasty and reasonably priced.

The terrace area or some called it relaxing verandah is the epic of our stay. We really enjoy so much chill-ing at the terrace area, watching the community activities at this street and also catchup on our emails/FB. Something very unique and relaxing. Almost every night, we spent some quiet and relaxing time at the terrace. Can't really ask for more.

We will definitely be back if we are dropping by Yogyakarta again.

We were looking for a place to shower and rest before our flight back to KL. Arrived from Bandung early in the morning, our trishaw guy helped us to find a hotel in Malioboro, which is just opposite the train station.

I read the reviews about this hotel so I asked the guy to send us here. Room was clean with ensuite bathroom but no hot shower. However this is not a problem because Jogja is very hot, so the cool shower was welcomed. Didn't test the Wi-Fi connection. There was a lady selling gudeg, a local food for breakfast outside the hotel and lots of stalls & restaurants around.

Sammy helped us booked a taxi to go to the airport in the evening. Although we stayed for just a few hours, we did enjoy our stay. The hotel is just a few minutes walk to Malioboro Street. And I saw a motorcycle rental place nearby so on my next visit to Jogja, no doubt I will book a room here. Can't wait to get back and continue exploring Jogja.
