Ate at Aglioo several times during our stay in Yogya. The food is really good and the service very friendly and always smiling, although sometimes a bit slow/forgetting/indonesian style. ;))
Tried several dishes, all of them really good or very good. My personal highlight was the chocolato lava! Yummy! Really miss that now! ;))

Let me start by saying, that in Europe, a restaurant will get no customers if a rat is seen in it! The same goes for cockroaches. But here, it's seems to be ok? No way!!!

So, make sure that restaurant is clean when the staff goes home, so you want have problems with rats and so on.

When it comes to the staff. Well, the waiter that served us was so incompetent. He actually came back twice just to confirm our order. How difficult is it to write down two pizzas?! Or maybe Aglioo should number every dish so the waiters just write numbers?!

The food is ok, not great - not bad. But if you are a backpacker, you'll find many great alternatives here in Jogja.

And please, teach your staff some english.

We were walking around this evening and looking for a place to eat dinner in Yogyakarta. We walked past Aglioo and thought we would give it a try, as it was busy, and busy usually means good. We order a Aglioo salad and salami and mushroom pizza, also two fresh juices. They said the pizza would take about 30minutes, but we didn't mind the wait. The atmosphere was good. A live local band had passed through to play some music which was nice. The juice arrived unsweetened with a side of liquid sugar (make it as sweet or not sweet as you want) and the salad was loaded with fresh vegetables. The pizza was the best part; about 12" in size, thin crust with lots of cheese and good amount of toppings. We were pleased and will probably go back tomorrow.

Have been to this restaurant a couple of times after some friends recommended it. And must say that every time its something that is not right. Most importantly is the bad service and the incompetence of the staff and the fact that the pizzas tastes not that good when certain chefs are working.

The service.
Sometimes it can take ages before your food arrives, but as long as all of us get the food at the same time it is more or less acceptable. But when you get your food and your girlfriend has to wait 30 minutes for hers, that is to much. The last visit was the limit (after that we are not going there anymore), when we ordered our dinner, I got my food after 40 minutes (40 minutes!) and only then the stupid waiter came and said that my girlfriends order could not be prepared because they don't have any chicken in stock. WTF! You have to be a complete moron to wait 40 minutes to tell the guest that they have to order something else.

Food.
The food is good, considering the ingredients available here. But the pizza (simple dish you think) tastes different depending on who the chef is. Only one chef seem to know how to make a pizza.

My recommendation, visit the place while in Yoygakarta, but only once. Even the warung food is better sometimes.

After reading good review of this restaurant, we got to this place using maps. They serves pizzas and pastas as main selling point for foreign tourist, but you can order traditional dishes too.

On the pizza taste, it is good and tasty. It was baked on traditional wooden-style kitchen. One pizza plate costs IDR 60,000 (US$6-7), and we can have many topping options. One plate of pizza can be served for 1-2 persons. The spaghetti we ordered is also tasty.

Unfortunately as the restaurant got crowded, we had to wait more than 30-40 mins to get our pizza and pasta plates. But this may only be my case.

As we don't stay around this restaurant area, we used car to get here. The street is second class road, typically-Indonesia narrow street, but I managed to find slot to park car not far from the restaurant. But I guess you cannot do this in crowded weekend.
