We have just spent 2 wonderful night here. We went for the weekend from Singapore to visit Borobudur and prambanan (fantastic experience!!!) and we booked here based on reviews on trip advisor!
We couldn't be more delighted with the experience. The staff and owners are extremely friendly and efficient. The rooms are great with the outdoor bathroom adding some great character to the experience. It's not what you expect when you arrive at the front of the hotel, you enter to the pool area to a paradise!
I cannot recommend this hotel more highly for a weekend in Jogja. Good food, cheap drinks, great bar staff make wonderful cocktails and overall a well run establishment.

We really enjoyed staying at the Dusun Jogja Village Inn. The room was very spacious and comfortable, and the way the rooms are decorated and tiled is really pretty. Our bathroom had a private pond with fish just outside the window, which you were able to open. It made for a very calming and relaxing experience. The grounds are very beautiful and lush, the staff are very helpful and friendly, and the tour we booked through the hotel was great and a good value for the money. The hotel is also near Kotagede and the walking distance to the backpacker district, which has great shopping and restaurants. Would definitely stay there again and recommend it to others traveling to Yogyakarta.

Dusun Jogja is a beautiful boutique hotel close to the center of town but neatly tucked away from the bustle of the city. Beautiful Javanese styled buildings, mature gardens around a lovely swimming pool. Deluxe room recommended, large balcony with daybed overlooking gardens and pool. The staff are very friendly and helpful too. Spent a couple of nights at this lovely place which I highly recommend.

Room Tip: Choose deluxe room with balcony

The positives:
Friendly and helpful staff. Chatty owner Paul is a colourful character (check out his picture with Obama) who's ever willing to chat and offer suggestions.
Hotel is within walking distance of top-rated eateries, great for foodies. Supermarket is just next door.
Comfortable beds with super firm pillows.
Excellent homemade chocolate and nutty spread for breakfast.

The negatives:
Rooms are rather dated, though very clean. Showers are placed too low, so baths were the better option, but not very convenient for older folk.
Breakfast selection is limited.
Tour desk was not able to provide useful suggestions. I did my own research and asked for a driver specifically for a Borobudur-Merapi itinerary.
Wifi was very weak, and we kept having to log in.

Overall it's good value for money for a traditional experience.

We are very thankful for your honest feedback. Comments such as yours are critical to the continued improvement of our services. We will do our best to improve our services and facilities. Regarding WiFi service we had contacted our provider to address the connection problem. For the tour vendor we had passed your review to them so that they can also improve the services. Regarding breakfast, we only provide simple buffet when low occupancy. However, guests still can order breakfast from the breakfast menu free of charge if your room rate including breakfast.

We wish to have the chance to better serve you in DUSUN on your next stay.

My husband planning to give me a surprise for my birthday, while he is still working at jogjakarta. and so he buy me a plane ticket and booked a room at java village online based on the review of trip advisor. It was the best birthday surprise ever, we loooove our room, it's architectural details, floor pattern, furniture, and we loooooove the balcony. And they gave us a welcome note, what a pleasant gesture. The pool is the other best thing, it's salt water, and its perfect for swim. On the first night they gave us welcome snack so yummy, that we decided to order our dinner from the restaurant, and not disappointed, the food is delicious. Oh and they have a library so that I can read and relax while my hubby working. Definitely will come back here, I already recommended this hotel to my friends.

We had 2 days and 2 nights in Jogja and I am very happy we decided to stay here. The staff is very well trained, kind, and attentive. Since this is not in the city center (not too far away though), you don't have to deal with the noise, traffic, and chaos. It does feel random as you pull up to the place from the street, but once you are inside, it is very charming. The place is very well thought out and all the details are nice. We met the owner, he was very nice and gave us some great suggestions. He has a great vision for the place and it really shows in the quality of time we had there. We booked our one day tour to Prambanan and Borobudur through them which was perfect cause they packed us an awesome breakfast and made it easy to pay all in one bill. There are also some really good places to shop, art galleries, and eat nearby, several of the top Tripadvisor listing of restaurants are walking distance. The food at Dusun Village is good as well if you need a quick bite or just don't want to leave the place. Breakfast is also very well done, so I would add that. Overall, I would recommend this place for anyone looking for good service, quality, and relaxing atmosphere during your stay in Jogja.
