stayed here 2 nights for new year. the checking in process took quite long time (have to wait around 30mnts to get the room key). They asked me to wait at the lobby and enjoying welcome drink while they preparing the key. after 30mnts if i didn't ask them about my room, they will not give me the room key! What a bad start to stay at such a 5 stars hotel.
Room was kinda old and the smell really not good also the aircon not working properly. Already make a complaint at express service and front desk, they only said that they will check but we didn't get a good respond for that complaint. The bed was hard and the pillow are smelly.
At the check out process, they charged me for something i didn't do. they charged me for a broken table! I already said that the table was fine because i'm the one who stayed in that room. But, the staff did not believe me. She said that that's your signature, until i have to show the ID that the name and signature was totally different.

Other than that everything was ok. breakfast was good! Love it!

Not as near to Malioboro Street as what I thought. It would take about a 10 -15 min walk from the hotel side exit (on your left). Walking back in the night from Malioboro Street is not advisable, as my family did not feel comfortable walking through the dimly lit alley back to the hotel.

Property wise:- I have no complaints. Although obvious signs of age, the property is well maintained. Room 524 has a view of the beautiful free form pool. No problem with hot water.

Front office reception:- Efficient & hospitable. Ready smile to offer.

Buffet breakfast:- It's a treat! Wide selection of choices. Yummy Indonesian cusine. Love the fried noodle most.

Swimming Pool:- Very relaxing. Pool attendent offered ball to my kids without prompting. Slide is a bonus. Great landscape around the pool. Not crowded during our stay, had the pool to ourselves for the whole morning.

Gym:- Instructor ready to help with usage of the equipments. My son ended up having a 'personal instruction' during our stay there!!!

Wellness:- Tried their SPA. Took the SPA Sampler package on offer. Only Rp280,000 (around SIN$36) for 90 mins of aroma feet wash, fascial & massage. Thats affordable from where we came from. Not realy brillant but they had the job done.

All in all, we paid around SIN$100 for each of the 4 rooms that we had & each room comes with a buffet breakfast for 2. What more do I ask for?

Room tip: Ask for a complimentary upgrade. We booked 4 rooms & had 1 of it upgraded to a Grand room.

Stayed here for 1 night after 2 nights of wonderful stay at the Sheraton. The hotel was definitely in need of a major renovation. The lobby looked old, imagine a hotel's lobby in the 90's and there you got it. Rooms were basic and a little bit humid. It took me an hour to make the aircon worked to a temperature that I wanted. However, its location was in the city center and very close to Malioboro, a famous market street in Jogja. The food was okay and nothing great to share...

We stayed in this hotel from 17-12-2012 to 19-12-2012.The hotel has a very nice layout.Checking-in took some time as I've booked the hotel thru Asiatravel.I've requested for single king size bed but was reserved only twin single bed. With the courtesy of the reception staff,we managed to get a single king sized bed but facing the roof top of the opposite bldg. The room was spacious enough for childrens to play.Happy checking into the room,But the toilet concept is unacceptable coz it does not have a spray for washing and after using the toilet , had to go to the shower room for washing.Which is rediculuos. The buffet b/f was good with western and local dish (had to pay Rp49 500 for each childrenX2).Nothing much to comment.Next day requested for room change and was given a room at 5th level(room 538).O.K. facing the swimming pool with open view. The room was big and spacious too.Good.Still it does not have a spray for washing and had to be done at the shower room.Bath tub does not have a hot water.Staffs are very polite. The minus point is that we made transport arrangements from the hotel to the airport (confirmed by the hotels guest relations staff). We were told the price is Rp90 000 and made a booking.Upon settling the bill,we checked out without checking the charges on the bill.Reached the airport,we paid the driver Rp110 000(Rp90 000for the transport and Rp20 000 to the driver as tips). The driver or the hotel staff did not tell us that the transport fare has been charged to the bill but the driver accepted the cash and went off.Upon reaching Singapore we checked that Rp90 000 has been charged to our bill, meaning I paid twice for the transport fare.Feeling being cheated and dishonesty by the driver, I email to the hotels management.Still waiting for thier reply.Overall the hotel was good.

Room tip: Be more specific on the room bed size, which level do you require, facing open view or pool view, internet connections, noise disturbance.Choose high floor facing garden or pool view.
