Even though the hotel is already old but the room is well maintained. The problem is I stayed in the non smoking room but the hotel provided ashtray and matches. The restaurant for having breakfast is good but quite hectic in the morning. Food is good, a balanced between local food and western menu. The room is spacious and neat. Agree that they should provide in room wifi access because it is very troublesome to connect to the wired line.

Room Tip: Request for room facing the city.

The location is near malioboro street,it's strategic location is a plus of this hotel. I didn't try all the hotels facilities since my schedule was tight but the room is good. The deluxe room is spacious, the bathroom is large and clean, nice view of the pool. The service is good, the staffs are friendly and helpfull. The breakfast also good, vary from western to local menu. The only thing I considered as a con is there is no wifi and the internet rate is too expensive. If you here for bussiness you should prepare for internet connectivity alternatives.

We had previously stayed in Bali for 8 days and headed over to Yogyakarta for 5 days to stay at this hotel so we could go and see Borobudur and Prambanan. The flight from Bali was only 1 hour. We stayed at this hotel in Jan 2011 just after Mount Merapi had erupted about Oct 2010 (or about then). My husband didn't want me to write a review he wanted me to keep this hotel a secret as we absolutely loved this hotel and wanted to keep it all to ourselves. The hotel wasn't at full capacity due to Merapi eruption as it has kept tourists away so we had the run of the place as such, maybe thats why we had such a good time. The room we had was beautiful. The breakfast was amazing, specially the coffee. The pool was lovely. Overall we loved Yogyakarta and the people there. We were the only Australians over there well westerners but no one really took any notice of us everyone went about there business which was nice. Would come back here in a heart beat. You must go and see Borobudur and Prambanan and we were lucky enough to to go and see Mount Merapi which was still smoking and in a bad way as the eruption had only happened a few months before we got there. But I honestly couldn't say a bad word about this place it was 1st class all the way.

Room Tip: We had a room over looking the pool, Unsure what floor we were on thou. Room was perfect.

I stayed three nights at this hotel. Staff are extremely efficient and friendly, no request a problem. I booked a deluxe room which was extremely large, featuring a desk and lounge. The bed was comfortable and also large in size. The bathroom clean and large only issue being no ventilation. Good selection for Breakfast with the staff attending extra demands. The location is near Milobrono Road which is the main tourist haunt in Yogyakarta. The hotel is located directly opposite a Mosque and I counted a further 2 Mosque some 800 metres away. At 4:30am each morning call to prayer begin. This make sleeping impossible, making ear plugs are must. This a very clean hotel and I would not hesitate to stay again this time with ear plugs.

Room Tip: Request room facing west away from noise

While hunting for a boutique hotel of local architecture close to the centre of this historic town, we came across Melia Purosani. After going through its reviews Trip Advisor, location and pictures on the web we decided to book. The rate offered was also very attractive. We reached the hotel around 10pm after 5 hours of flight time on 3 different flights including the last one on Lion Air and a horrific experience at the Jakarta domestic terminal; we were greeted by smiling reception staff. The room was on a higher floor overlooking pool as requested. This is the peaceful side of the hotel unlike the roadside which we were told to be noisy. Rooms were large and pleasant, barring some stains on the carpet, rest was elegant and clean. Toilets too were large, clean and functional. Breakfast spread was excellent with wide variety including local delicacies. The restaurant too was good with wide choice with some excellent local deserts. The location of the hotel was just 5 minute walk from the famous Malioboro Street, the centre of Jogja. A wonderful experience altogether.

Room Tip: Rooms on poolside are quiter.
