The hotel was perfectly situated near to Malioboro street, just a few minutes walk. Everything and aspect was perfect. The staff was courteous, polite and well trained. Room was spacious enough and design was sleek.

We stayed in the hotel for 3 nights 4 days in May 2019. We had a mixed experience. We were very happy with the service but we did encounter minor issues with the facilities.
Aircon was not working in the first room we were given. The temperature showed 29 degC. Even after waiting for a couple of hours the temperature did not go down. We called the front desk and a maintenance person came in. After troubleshooting, he could not find any fault. He confirmed the aircon was working. After he left, we monitored for about five minutes but the temperature did not change. We called the front desk again. The front desk advised us to monitor another 15 minutes and we did, but the temperature was still at 29 degC. We called again and requested for room change and the front desk kindly complied.
The aircon was good in another room we were given. It reached 23 degC which was the temperature we set. We were happy. However, we noted a few minor things. The bracket for toilet nozzle was shaky. The toilet door handle was shaky too, but it was ok functionally. The door closed properly. The switch at the back of the hair dryer was broken too but the dryer worked. The safe did not work but we do not carry any valuables when we travel. So, we did not mind. All these minor things did not bother us. We were very happy that the aircon worked and we were grateful to the front desk.
There was another thing that did not bother us but the hotel might want to take a look into. At around 7:30pm, we found that the whole lobby was infested with barbeque smell. It didn't affect us. We just passed by the lobby to go in and to go out. So, we did not mind.
As for service and hospitality, we felt very welcomed and very well taken care of. The service is exceptional. It is excellent. We requested to book a taxi to go to the airport at 5am for the day we check out. We requested a day in advance. The front desk kindly offered to give us a breakfast box.
We had our dinners at Sky Bar and breakfasts at the restaurant. We were happy with the service of F&B staffs. We went for massage at the hotel spa and we were happy with it too. The housekeeping did clean our room very well and replenished the toiletries.
As for location, it is as expected. It is just a short walk to the shops on Malioboro Street and the mall. And, there are plenty of local food stalls just outside the hotel. We love the location.
Overall we had a happy stay at Ibis Style Yogyakarta. It is the human touch, the service, the hospitality that made our stay very wonderful.
Will we stay in the hotel again? Most likely yes, should we visit Jogya again, but we would make sure the aircon works well, before we check in.

Good hotel with excellent service. Easy to go to anywhere because it's located in the central of the city. 5 mins walking from the train station, and from malioboro street. The ambience is good. Especially during the sunset time in the rooftop pool. Very recommended!

this hotel is in accordance with its reputation as one of the international chains. where the service and professionalism of its employees are quite good in serving customers, but unfortunately for buildings it is less well maintained. need to be addressed so that it matches the quality of service, for food variations that meet expectations. only suggestions for frequent rotation at breakfast.
