“Great Indonesias Food and Service”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 21, 2012

Enjoying great Indonesia food in the middle of Yogyakarta is what this restaurant is all about. Staff are very very friendly. One can feast on different types of Satays and seafoods. Cassava chips will always be a staple as a pre-dining treat. The ambiance of thwhole place is very Indonesia, with refreshing water features, lush gardens, and Balinese furniture. Service is also very good as staff can easily be called when one needs to order something. The location of the restaurant is very convenient because it's just 10-15 minutes away from the Candi Borobudur grounds. There is also a very large and interesting silver and souvenir shop parallel to the restaurant which makes shopping a breeze for any traveler, I would always recommend this place for first time Yogyakarta tourists.

“Nice and friendly, excellent bbq!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 16, 2012 via mobile

We tried this restaurant after driving around the city on our first day in Yogya, the menu was mixed Indonesian and the dishes we tried (Nasi goreng udang bakar and sate ikan) where both good, the best part was the bbq'd shrimps and the sate, the nasi goreng and the lontong that accompanied the fish and shrimp was not so tasty and needed extra seasoning, over all it was a good meal.

“high-class, authentic Javanese food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 19, 2012

me and my mum had lunch here on our visit to Kotagede. the restaurant has a collonial ambience. we decided to order tuna sambal matah and brongkos ribs, both was absolutely delish. we didn't order dessert because the main course was humongous, we barely finished them.
they put photos of (local) celebrities who patroned the resto and guess what? Mickey Rourke was there! :))

“Delicious food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 3, 2012

The food we ordered, Ayam Bekakak & honey roasted chicken was very tasty, you can taste the freshness of the spices. Later we heard from a friend that Ayam Bekakak is quite 'rare' to find, so you might like to try it (beware it could be too spicy for some). We found, though, that the rice that was served with these could have been hotter (temperature wise), as it was rather on the cold side. Service was friendly and polite. Washing basin area/ restroom could use a bit of update, as it looked a bit tired. Overall an OK restaurant if you like to taste Javanese menu.
