The sunset starts as early as 5.15pm and I witnessed the sunset when I visit this place recently in Oct 2018. For foreigner required to pay an entrance fee of 375000 Rupiah. However, I found the amount of entrance fee worth with the scene up there. And the place was clean and well maintained by the local tourist authority.

If you plan to travel during dry season, bring along plenty of plain water. Bring along hats or umbrella with you.

I you love to visit a historical place, old scenes, tomb etc .. ratu boko temple is one of the place you have to visit.
This place was a city center of syailendra dynasty.
To get to this place, you'll need to driver more or less 90 minutes from the city center. Take route to bantul and follow the path.
Ratu boko temple was the kings palace. From the gate of the temple you can see jogja city from above. You can also saw prambanan temple far away from there.
Upper the hills, ratu boko temple usually visit on the sunset to get a beautiful photo.. you have to pay some retribution to keep this site clean but it's worth it

Last time we were here was on rainy season and everything was green. At this time it is so dry. I think there must be a way to maintain this place green.

Could be better.

Stunning! it was one of largest complex of Hinduism temple and palace located not far from temple of Prambanan located about 18 km outside of Yogyakarta. Unfortunately almost all ruins but efforts are not to unite all pieces.

Not worth the effort nor the entrance fee. Please keep in mind a foreign adult will pay over 500k IDR for just a pile of rocks..

If you are going to Jogja you can choose from a variety of temples. The are all beautiful. This Ratu Boko temple is a palace but there is no palace? All the other building are still standing. It is a nice place only a bit over priced for tourists.
