Average food and v.small portions. Nice decor and a little shop make for a chilled experience. Friendly service too, makes me want to rate it higher...

“Fine Indian food in Restored Dutch House with Indian Ambience”
Reviewed July 29, 2013

From the beautiful temple door and old floor tiles to the garden and the low seating areas, the Indian art and low lighting, the aesthetics of this place could hardly be better. Add very friendly owners, great Indian food, Bintang beer at reasonable prices, and excellent wifi and enjoyable evenings with friends or alone - yes I have eaten here a lot! - are guaranteed at Sangam House :) The vegetable biryani is one of my faves, and brinjal/eggplant/aubergine in peanut sauce curry.

“Best place to have Indian meals”
Reviewed July 5, 2013

When you are in Yogyakarta and you feel like having some Indian meals, Sangam House is the place for you to be. The cook, who happens to be one of the owners, learned the food preparation in India so what they serve is really authentic Indian meals. My favourite dish here is the Madras Mutton Curry. MUST TRY!

“Food for thought”
Reviewed June 26, 2013

If you are craving for indian food in yogjakarta do not think twice......sangam house is the destination for you. It located in a non descript by lane. Google map helped me. On entering you may be mistaken by the decor. Sangam house is a cultural hot pot where you start experiencing the variety and richness of Indian culture thousands of kilometre away from India.

It provides you food " for thought". The food is cheap and yet tasty. The authentic spices will surely entice your taste buds. The restaurant part is divided in four rooms with different themes and colors. The ambience is so rich that you will take 15 to 20 mins to taste the creative exibition of indian art forms.

The service is good and special menu of the day will brighten up your waiter. The menu is crisp yet satisfying. The deserts especially the kulfi is really tasty.
The chapatis were not good as they were very crispy. I would also like them to serve basmati rather than local rice.

Over all the ambience and service with tasty indian food makes you feel at India

“Yes, my oasis too!”
Reviewed December 17, 2012

I agree with those who have described this place as an oasis. The decor is exceptional and the staff and owners charming. My dining here has been restricted to soups and juices, but these have been tasty and nutritious. The yoga classes here are excellent, incidentally, and the place acts as a kind of focal point for community life, often with lots of information about upcoming activities. It varies between quiet and bustling in the evenings when I call by.
